The Torchlight: Infinite development team is comprised of ARPG veterans including developers whose resumes include Diablo, Torchlight and Path of Exile. With this breadth of experience to hand, the team has incorporated beloved mechanics of loot based ARPGs with an emphasis on exciting combat, hero development and progression, strategic content, and the all-important fun factor.

Multiplayer is set to be an integral part of the Torchlight: Infinite experience with a in game item trading system and multiplayer gameplay. As such the game will feature cross play across all devices allowing players to enjoy the game with friends no matter what device they use. This coupled with the games post launch content plan that will include regular new content with the season system is set to allow given greater freedom of progression and plenty of new content.

XD Games are excited to reveal what’s to come in the next season of Torchlight: Infinite, Season 6: The Frozen Canvas is launching on October 24, 2024.

With an entirely new gameplay loop and hero, there’s plenty for Hunters to uncover this season! Joining the roster is Selena, a powerful musician whose melodic song will light up the Frozen Canvas this October! Bringing a new tune to shift between two incredibly powerful forms for devastating effect, Selena’s sure to become a fan favourite!

The first of her forms is a Bard Mode, which enwraps Selena’s skills in foam. But be careful, these foam clouds are deadly. When they come in contact with enemies they burst into luminescent color and trigger her skills, allowing her to delay foes and move swiftly across the battlefield, summoning tides and dealing damage from afar.

Sometimes though, going in Loud is the only option! In Loud Song Mode, Selena’s powers crescendo, and while her movement is restricted, the damage boost will blow her enemies away, allowing her to effortlessly shift from support to immense damage dealing at the click of a button.

Strap on ice boots and explore the frozen Netherrealm. Littered throughout are Snowpaper Fragments, mystical pieces of the Frozen Canvas that players can use to enter the next stage, battle enemies and gather a variety of colors to create a canvas of their very own.

Each painting they unlock with these fragments kickstarts Color Mixing Objectives, tasks that allow Hunters to unlock new colors and effects while they finish their own masterpieces. Once complete, they step onto the Frozen Canvas itself to transform this living landscape to their own desires.

Collecting Colored Snow from this region improves their painting skills, unlocks new brushstrokes and even reveals hidden monsters and valuable treasure in the snowy plains and caverns of the Netherrealm.

As Torchlight: Infinite continues to grow, so do the skills players can use to traverse this fantastical world. The new Inspiration Essence will allow Hunters to equip explosive support skills across multiple slots, enhancing their damage, forms and creating unexpected effects in combat.

Requiring materials from the Frozen Canvas, these new skills allow players to create more diverse and imaginative builds than ever. But that’s not all, the support skill tree has seen a dramatic improvement, with the addition of:

  • Split Shot - Rapid Advance: Supported skill becomes a channelled skill, continuously firing projectiles at enemies within a certain range with the number of projectiles fired being equal to the skill's Projectile Quantity.
  • Groundshaker - Wrathful Vault: The skill now transforms into a leap, creating a devastating fissure when Hunters crash into the ground. When supported skill does not consume Demolisher Charge, players gain an additional +150% Attack Speed. If no enemies are within 8 meters, the supported skill cannot consume Demolisher Charge.
  • Whirlwind - Whirling Blade: This skill now has the Projectile Tag, and the quantity of Wind Blades is not affected by the Projectile Quantity Bonus
  • Ring of Blades - Strength in Numbers: When players cast this skill, it creates a Ring of Blades around them and their Minions, offering a new level of protection for those supported by creatures.

Alongside these new skills, Torchlight: Infinite is freshly balanced with the frequency of rare abilities reduced to ensure they retain their impactfulness on builds. What’s more, Hero Traits have been simplified to allow for a more focused approach to levelling up characters and creating destructive playstyles.

Crafting has also been overhauled, with Legendary Crafting removed and non-Legendary crafting redesigned to give players a more consistent experience and rewarding exploration as they discover Legendary items.

Players can obtain Rotten Axis and Brilliant Axis through Clockwork Ballet gameplay and use them to corrode non-legendary equipment. Corrosion has a chance to turn affixes in the equipment into powerful T0 affixes, but when no T0 affix is obtained after corrosion, the equipment becomes binded.

It’s not just Hunters that have been revamped. The vast Netherrealm has also seen its fair share of changes. From Confusion Cards activating more frequently and additional challenging levels for Hunters to explore in Profound Timemark 8 and Deep Space, players will discover a whole new side to the Netherrealm.

The new Supreme Showdown adds 20 high-level bosses for players to test their mettle against. They’ll need everything they have to defeat these brutal bosses, using all of their might and trickery to survive. If they do, they’ll be rewarded with a Legendary Season Pactspirit as proof of their might!

If that wasn’t enough, the Golden Havoc - Odak will also be a daily boss battle for players to face. They can win daily rewards, unlock milestones and reap the benefits of daily destruction.

With two weeks until the new season, there’s never been a better time to be a Hunter. Prepare for the new season, pick up your paintbrushes and prepare to turn the Frozen Canvas red (or whatever color you prefer).
