Today is the day that Americans went underground into the vaults to survive the apocalypse all thanks to the fine folks at Vault-Tec, and it’s time to celebrate. This year, we’re kicking off the celebrations with a very S.P.E.C.I.A.L. show.

From Bethesda Game Studios in Austin, it’s the Fallout Day Broadcast. During the broadcast, you’ll hear about all the exciting new content coming to Fallout 76 from Jon Rush, Bill LaCoste and other Bethesda Game Studios developers.

In the Fallout Day Broadcast, Bethesda Game Studios announced Fallout 76’s next update: Gleaming Depths. Here’s a rundown of everything we covered in the broadcast.

Raid: Gleaming Depths

In Gleaming Depths, descend into a mysterious underground research laboratory in the Ash Heap where the Enclave once studied radioactive Ultracite. Find out why the laboratory has been abandoned, squad up and face off against the beasts and bots that remain in the radiation-ridden lab in five punishing encounters.

Bring your best friends, weapons, armor and lots of stimpaks because Gleaming Depths is not for the faint of heart. The final battle against the Ultracite Terror will truly test your mettle.

But, with monumental risks come legendary rewards.

Four-Star Legendary Gear

In the Fallout Day Broadcast, we also announced an exciting update to the Legendary Gear system. Now you can earn and craft Four-Star Legendary Gear.

Player Titles

Another addition to Fallout 76, that you can earn by doing anything from completing quests and challenges to taking down the Ultracite Terror, is your player title. Player titles are comprised of two parts that are earned separately and can be combined in a myriad of ways to make your title unique. We look forward to seeing what fun titles you come up with.

C.A.M.P. Pets

Yes, they’re finally here! The adorable feature that you’ve all been clamoring for: C.A.M.P. Pets! With the Gleaming Depths update, you will be able to add a furry friend to your C.A.M.P. To start, we’re adding two pets, a dog and a cat.

These faithful animals hang out at your C.A.M.P. and can interact with special pet furniture, such as a pile of bones for the dog. You can even pet them and customize accessories like their collars.

Play as a Ghoul!

Perhaps the biggest news we announced during the Fallout Day Broadcast, you will soon be able to play as a ghoul in Fallout 76, for the first time ever in a Fallout game. Playing as a ghoul opens up many new playstyles with the addition of ghoul-specific Perk cards and a new Feral meter. You won't need to worry about hunger or thirst but remember, some people and factions just don't take kindly to ghouls.

Free Play Event

Now is the perfect time to jump into Fallout 76. Join the over 20 million vault dwellers rebuilding Appalachia today because between October 22 and October 29, you can play Fallout 76 for free. Fallout on Sale

Texas Stars Fallout Night
