- Dynamic Encounters: Dynamic Encounters is new world content that players can experience to help bring life to the worlds they inhabit. Galactic Threads Storyline
*Story spoilers for Update 7.5 story content in this section*
Galactic Threads begins immediately following the events from the Desperate Defiance storyline. Players and their Alliance race to find Darth Malgus and stop whatever plans he has set in motion. At the same time, players will also seek answers surrounding Darth Nul’s holocron and the Hidden Chain’s ambitions.
Jekiah and Rass Ordo, Arn Peralun, Major Anri, Talos Drellik, Akaavi Spar, and Lana Beniko will be making a return in this story update.
Story Missions will be taking players to Hoth, Tatooine, and the digsite at Nul’s temple of Elom.
There is an important caveat that the team would like to address to set player expectations. While the “Galactic Threads” story chapter is well into production, the SWTOR Narrative team does not currently have all the components needed to deliver high-quality story content that adheres to the team’s standards, as well as player expectations for story. The release date for “Galactic Threads” is currently delayed until this content can be completed. Please note, no other content in Game Update 7.6 is impacted.

Freeing Inactive Character Names
We’ve been looking for opportunities to release inactive character names, and have selected 7.6 launch as the time to begin this process. If you have not logged into a character since January 1, 2024, that character name will be released into an unreserved pool and can potentially be claimed by another player when 7.6 launches. Players who want to keep their character names must log into the game before the 7.6 launch and log into each character. Players who are Subscribers at 7.6 launch will not need to take any action. Read here for more details!

Our modernization efforts continue on with Game Update 7.6. Players will see updates done to Tython, Korriban, Hoth, and Ilum.
But wait, there’s more! Character models, specifically heads, will also see improved fidelity across the game! Players will see updates to their character via updated character textures, along with ocular specularity and with lighting, and shader improvements. Our goal was to improve the fidelity of characters across the game while keeping your character uniquely yours.
