The Lightless World is an indie game built with Unreal Engine 5 with stunning visuals, complex mechanics and unique talent trees with meaningful quests.

Once upon a time, in a world shrouded in darkness and despair, demons led by entities no one had ever seen, called the Ancient Ones. Their only purpose was to conquer the entire universe, spreading the Void and they were succeeding for a while, until the humans tried to stop them, invading their realm. Then, a battle of epic proportions erupted between humans and demons.

A group of humans -warriors, mages, and healers- who called themselves “The Order of Dawn”, were dedicated to protecting their world from the demonic onslaught.

The Order of the Dawn sought out ancient relics and artifacts, whispered to possess immense power against the forces of darkness.

Despite the humans' strength in numbers, the demons' unity and unwavering resolve proved to be a formidable force. The Ancient Ones had chosen their best champions to defend their land. After a while, the humans began to witness the error of their ways as they beheld the true power of their opponents.

This cataclysmic battle would shape the fate of the land of demons and humans either will end their purpose to spread across the universe either they will be doomed to their inevitable extinction.

Explore a vast and varied world in The Lightless World. Each location offers its own unique challenges and secrets. Venture through the shadowy corridors of ancient citadels, where every corner could hide surprises. Or witness the intense heat of lava fields, where the environment itself is an enemy. The Lightless World allows players to develop their character through a network of talent trees. Choose skills that enhance your strengths, whether you’re mastering the art of spellcasting or prefer the direct approach of melee combat. This system lets you adapt your demon to suit your style of play, making every playthrough unique. Tailor your character to overcome new challenges as you dive deeper into the game’s dark world.

The Lightless World will soon launch in early access on Steam and will remain so for about 6 months, giving players a chance to try it out and help shape the final game. 

“The current state of the game is under active development. On the demo, the customer will be able to play two characters (Archdemons), on one playable area and a limited amount of talent tree customisations.”

“Primarily, our goal for the Early Access version is to gather feedback from the players and our community in order to determine the areas of the game we should focus on first. While we have lots of features and ideas that we would like to implement first, we feel it's best if we initially focused on what our players enjoyed more and then polish the areas of the game that need to change. Regarding the final version of The Lightless World, we plan on introducing more playable characters and stages, and adding a lot of general quality of life improvements.”

Unlocking a specific talent often requires points to be allocated in prerequisite skills in that path, promoting a sense of progression and specialization. The choices players make in the talent tree directly influences their character strengths, weaknesses and playstyle.
