Darkest Dungeon II is a challenging gothic roguelike RPG that will test your mettle and drive you to the brink of madness.

Darkest Dungeon II will test your mettle and drive you to the brink of madness.

Armor yourself with purpose and provision your party for the journey ahead. It will be arduous.

Darkest Dungeon II is a loving interpretation of the game’s signature style in 3D, with hand-drawn textures, bringing more life to the characters and amp up the fx, while preserving the classic DD combat presentation.

The basic configuration of 4 heroes/4 monsters and two trinkets per hero is still true, but there have been significant changes to the base mechanics, stats, and so on.

Darkest Dungeon creator Red Hook Studios has proudly announced as part of today's Nintendo Direct that Darkest Dungeon II, their grim turn-based roadtrip RPG, will release on Nintendo Switch on July 15th, 2024.

Players can now pre-order the game in the Nintendo eShop for $39.99, 38,99€, £34.00 with a launch discount of 15%.

The upcoming release on Nintendo Switch will arrive alongside Sony’s PlayStation 4 and 5 versions, with all current updates and DLC.

"We're thrilled to bring Darkest Dungeon II to the Nintendo Switch, offering players the chance to experience the intense strategic depth and atmospheric horror of our game wherever they go.” says Tyler Sigman, Design Director for Red Hook Studios. “The Switch's unique capabilities perfectly complement the immersive journey through the darkest reaches of our world."

In addition to the main game, the DLC 'The Binding Blade' will also be available on Nintendo Switch. Players have the option to purchase the Oblivion bundle - containing the base game and DLC - on the Nintendo eShop. Key features of its update include the addition of two playable heroes, The Duelist and The Crusader, as well as the roaming mini-boss The Warlord. A major new campaign game mode, ‘Kingdoms’, will arrive as a free content update later this year. This mode challenges players in a desperate race against the clock to find and defeat a monstrous threat before it overwhelms and destroys the Kingdom.

Darkest Dungeon II is once again be narrated by Wayne June, while music is being composed by Darkest Dungeon 1's Stuart Chatwood.

Key Features:

  • Roguelike Runs, Each With Its Own Emerging Story: Each expedition lasts from 30 minutes to several hours. Even an untimely end will arm you with resources that can be spent to improve your next journey.
  • Unforgettable Heroes: Uncover and experience the tragic origin stories of each hero. Unlock their full potential via new skills, paths, items, and more.
  • The Altar of Hope: Engage with a massive system of upgrades and boons that opens up new strategies for each expedition. Choose what’s important to you as you formulate your assaults on the Mountain.
  • The Affinity System: As travels progress, heroes bond with each other or develop animosity, leading to desperately needed combat synergies or journey-ending dysfunction. Manage their stress and interaction to keep the team together until the bitter end.
  • Nightmarish Environs: From the burning Sprawl to the diseased Foetor, the long road to the Mountain will challenge your strategies and your endurance. Explore five distinct regions, each with their own unique creatures and challenges.

Currently available for PC (Steam / Epic Games Store), Darkest Dungeon II is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5 on July 15, 2024.
