'Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical' Orpheus DLC Comes To All Platforms Next Week

by Rainier on June 20, 2024 @ 3:00 p.m. PDT

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is an interactive roleplaying musical game set in a modern fantasy world where Greek Gods live hidden among us.

Written by David Gaider, lead writer of the Dragon Age series comes Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical - an urban fantasy tale of finding your place, taking charge of your fate, and discovering answers. Your choices will change the endings, as well as the path you take to get there.

College dropout Grace is quickly pulled into that world when she is granted the power of a Muse—power she’ll need to find out the truth behind her predecessor’s death. The choices players make as they charm, negotiate, or strong-arm their way through the game, including in original, fully interactive musical numbers, will impact their path to the end. Along the way, players will shape the soundtrack to their own one-of-a-kind musical experience as they help Grace find her voice, determining whom she allies with, who she can trust, and who may betray her. With four potential paramours, players can even stoke the fires of romance, and explore, pursue, and confess their love.

A compelling story of hope, self-discovery, and forging your path.

In a modern fantasy world, college dropout Grace is granted the power of a Muse - power she’ll need to find out the truth behind her predecessor’s death before time runs out. You’ll decide who Grace allies with, who she can trust, and who may betray her in this beautifully hand-illustrated roleplaying musical.

Adventure, love, and songs await!

Charm, negotiate, or strong-arm your way through their world as Grace, playing through original, fully interactive musical numbers composed by Grammy-nominated composer Austin Wintory (Journey, Banner Saga), Tripod (musicians Scott Edgar, Steven Gates, and Simon Hall) and Eurovision Australia’s own Montaigne (Jess Cerro). Fully orchestrated, Stray Gods is voice-directed by Troy Baker and stars Laura Bailey, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and many more cast members from games, television, and Broadway to be revealed soon. With thousands of potential variations based on your choices, you’ll craft the soundtrack to your own one of a kind musical experience.

Humble Games and Summerfall Studios announced  that Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical's Orpheus DLC is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch, alongside PC on June 27, 2024 at $9.99 USD / $14.50 AUD / $7.99 GBP.

In Stray Gods: Orpheus, play as Orpheus in this brand new story for Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical. Orpheus’ story is arguably finished - until Hermes brings him back to the world of the living. With their help, players will guide Orpheus through the depths of mortal decision making - who to date, what to hope for, what instrument to rock out on.

Starring Anthony Rapp (RENT, Star Trek: Discovery), Erika Ishii (Worlds Beyond Number, Dimension 20) and written by David Gaider, Stray Gods: Orpheus is a comedic feature length experience that history buffs, hopeless romantics, and rock stars alike can enjoy.

Players can experience 6 brand new original songs, where each decision changes the song and the story. Composed by Austin Wintory, with lyrics by Simon Hall (Tripod), Montaigne (Jess Cerro) and new addition Tom Cardy (Red Flags, Artificial Intelligence), Stray Gods: Orpheus has hours of interactive music for players to explore again and again.

Choice and consequence built from the DNA of RPGs - no two playthroughs are the same.

Delve into a hidden world of mythic Greek gods and monsters as you get to know a cast of hilarious, enigmatic, and compelling characters. Forget what you know about these mythological beings - in Stray Gods you’ll forge friendships and find foes with many familiar names, but not so familiar stories. Play as star and stagehand as you determine the story you want to tell through conversation and song.

Find friendship, love, or yourself.

Build friendships with mortals and Gods alike. Stoke the fires of romance if you so choose - explore, pursue, and confess your love with four potential paramours. Decide who you want to be through every choice. David Gaider’s storytelling and characters come to life with performances by an all-star cast, with the likes of Laura Bailey (The Last of Us 2, Critical Role), Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Steven Universe, Resident Evil) and more cast members across video games, television, and Broadway to be revealed soon.

A musical for video game lovers, and a video game for musical lovers.

With all the comedy and tragedy of your favorite stage shows, Stray Gods is a tongue-in-cheek and heartfelt reconception of Greek mythology combining what we love about contemporary musical theater (think Hadestown, Buffy: Once More With Feeling, and Wicked) with video games where character and story take center stage (think Life is Strange, Dragon Age, and Dream Daddy). Collaborating with some of the best in music, broadway, television, and games - Stray Gods is a debut not to be missed.

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam).
