Set on a near-future Earth, in Valorant players choose from a global cast of agents, all hailing from a real-world location and culture. Each agent brings a unique set of tactical abilities they can use to gather information, fortify locations, scout for enemy intel, breach defensive sites, control territory, and more. Abilities create unique tactical opportunities for players to take the right shot.
A free-to-play game of precise skill, high stakes and lethal gameplay, VALORANT pits two teams of five players against each other to win a round-based, attackers vs defenders, best-of-24-rounds gunfight.

Riot Games announced Valorant will soon be available to global players on Xbox Series X|S and (PS5 consoles, beginning with a limited beta - kicking off in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, and Japan on June 14, 2024, before possibly rolling out to remaining global regions shortly thereafter.

Both Xbox and PS5 formats feature custom-built Valorant gameplay, upholding the game’s strict level of core, competitive gameplay, which remains the ultimate priority for the franchise’s expansion. In order to maintain Valorant’s renowned standard for competitive integrity, cross-play will not be available between PC and console player matches. Both PC and console players will receive simultaneous platform releases of all live patch balances, new agents, maps, premium content, and additional live service features.
“When exploring whether to bring Valorant to additional platforms, we knew we had to be able to offer the same uncompromising, competitive experience that we’ve provided to PC players for years: a precise, team-based, tactical shooter,” said Arnar Gylfason, Production Director of Valorant at Riot Games. “We were adamant that Valorant’s core, competitive gameplay must feel natural on a controller; and - if we couldn’t deliver on that gameplay promise - we had to be prepared to walk away from it. We hope we nailed it, but ultimately, our players will have the final say.”
Key Features:
- Precise, lethal, high-fidelity gunplay - A steady-aimed player with a pistol will always beat an unsteady sniper. In VALORANT, fights can end in milliseconds, time-to-kill is low (most headshots are instant kills, most rifles kill in 3-4 bullets), and recoil is punishing. Every shot counts.
- Agents with unique abilities & a diverse arsenal of guns - Abilities are designed to complement - not overpower - gunplay through tactical information and strategic support. Each agent brings a unique set of abilities that change how you approach a situation. Agents have access to all guns, which can be purchased via a round-to-round based economy. Each gun has its own strategic value and depth of mastery - in both recoil control and situational deployment.
- Competitively tuned maps for thousands of hours of play - Each map in VALORANT is designed to support a wide variety of strategies and team compositions, leading to thousands of hours of play and mastery.
- A connected, shared inventory and gameplay progression - Both PC and console players will receive simultaneous platform releases of all live patch balances, new agents, maps, premium content, and additional live service features.
