Currently available through Steam early access, Petroglyph Games announced that 9-Bit Armies: A Bit Too Far is will launch its v1.0 version on August 26, 2024.
Since releasing in early access back in February the game has received over 24 game updates, with new content, gamemodes and improvements:
- Sentinels Campaign: The second campaign is out, play solo or with a friend.
- Survival Mode: A new way to play with waves of enemies in a mode that you can tackle alone or with up to 4 friends.
- Replays and Observer Mode: You can now watch other games online as a spectator or replay games to study the tactics used.
- Difficulty Balance: The AI has learned, but we also tweaked and re-balanced, ensuring you can find the right difficulty level for you.
- Gameplay Additions: New maps, new unit abilities, an improved UI and new challenges.

- Two Factions: Two fully fleshed out but asymmetrically opposed factions in the Overlords and Sentinels.
- A Classic RTS Campaign: A 12-mission campaign with a retro style. Level up as you progress, unlocking new units and veterancy as your persistent army advances.
