'Eden Survivors' Is A Survivor-like Auto-Shooter Coming To Steam Early Access Later This Year - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Sept. 3, 2024 @ 7:00 a.m. PDT

Eden Survivors is a single-player survivor-like auto-shooter where players must defeat hordes of alien invaders until the extraction time.

Welcome, hackers, you're being transferred to Eden City to defend its citizens against the alien threat!

Hordes of enemies and a bullet hell is what awaits you in the next project from Aeternum Game Studios, a game that is in an "advanced state of development" and that will be released very soon as an Early Access title.

The few details that have been revealed so far talk about a survivors title, influenced by the best representatives of the genre such as Deep Rock Galactic Survivors, Brotato, and, of course, Vampire Survivors, but with gameplay and style adapted to the cyberpunk world that we saw in Eden Genesis.

With Eden Survivors, the developers aim to expand the universe of their new IP, transporting the players to a battlefield where they must hold out for 20 minutes against an unstoppable legion of aliens. To face this threat, we'll take control of a pilot linked to a special mecha, with different combat skills and passive abilities. Following the path of this type of games, our combat robot will automatically shoot as we move through the ruins of Eden City, allowing us to choose between different advantages and weapons as we progress through the game, which adds an interesting RPG component when choosing our own combat style.

Aeternum Game Studios revealed that at Early Access launch (soon) Eden Survivors will have 4 available pilots, a wide skill tree, 14 types of enemies and 3 final bosses.

“We plan to deliver several major updates to Eden Survivors throughout its Early Access period, so the full version will feature significantly more content on scope and gameplay options, adding more biomes, new mechas, and incorporating brand new features, so the possibilities for the player are much more varied. Besides our internal schedule, we'd like to keep in mind the feedback from our community and include features based on their opinions.”

Key Features:

  • Choose your pilot: Defending the city from outer space horrors requires special battle gear. Players will be able to choose a pilot linked to a specific mech, featuring different combat and passive abilities. The more they play, the more they understand the advantages of each pilot and their mech, to customize it at their will.
  • Bullet hell battleground: Players will be transferred to a large map where hordes of enemies will spawn until the extraction time comes to zero. They will need to use the environment to overcome the never-stop alien legions while dodging the incoming enemy fire and melee attacks.
  • Auto-shooter mechanics: As a mech pilot, your main goal is to keep moving and never stand still in the same place! Your mech will fire automatically while you move through the ruins of Eden City. You will be able to choose between different perks and weapons as the game progresses, allowing you to choose your combat style.
  • An extension of the Eden metauniverse: Eden Survivors takes place in the same digital world as Eden Genesis, but as a video game inside the very universe of the first title. This means that players will play as Leah Anderson and other hackers who have joined an online game, Eden Survivors.

Eden Survivors is in development for PC (Steam), scheduled for 2025.
