'Titan Quest II' Early Access Will Be Adding New 'Forge' Mastery Soon

by Rainier on Nov. 17, 2025 @ 11:43 a.m. PST

Titan Quest II is an Action/RPG where players will be immersed in the mythological realm of ancient Greece, facing unimaginable challenges, striving for exquisite loot, and combining different masteries to create unique, powerful character builds.

Return to the classic mythology-inspired setting of Titan Quest and go toe-to-toe with legendary monsters as you journey across a fantastical reimagining of ancient Greece.

Nemesis, Goddess of Retribution, is out of control. She is corrupting the Threads of Fate and condemning all those who oppose her to eternal punishment - including you. Take up your weapon, fight alongside gods, and change fate itself in order to stop Nemesis, free those she’s punished, and weave your own epic tale.

Set out on an adventure worthy of myth that takes you from picturesque beaches, to serene Greek temples, to places where no mortal has ever ventured, including the mysterious realm of the Moirai themselves.Battle classic creatures from Greek myth and the original Titan Quest, including Ichthians, Centaurs, Satyrs, Harpies, Sirens, Gryphons, and many, many more.

Pay close attention to your surroundings! The world is full of mysteries and secrets to discover. Legendary monsters lurk in hidden groves, and you never know when you will end up face-to-face with a god.Visit memorable towns full of life and intrigue. The conversations you engage in and the items you find along your journey can lead to surprising discoveries, or they might just hold the key to stopping Nemesis. This is your adventure.

Heroic deeds require heroic effort. The enemies you face are far from defenseless - dodge and counter their attacks, then overwhelm them with a well-timed flurry of blows. Powerful rituals allow you to freely control the game’s difficulty, while deep character customization systems ensure that there’s always a good reason to replay.

Heroes, the next big Early Access update (Steam and Epic Games Store)  for Titan Quest II is live today! This latest patch introduces two exciting additions

Heroes, do you know the tale of Hephaistos? Thrown out of Olympos by his own mother Hera. But he survived and became not only the most gifted craftsman ever but also a mighty deity, that could make a stand against Ares and Hera, and many other gods.

As a craftsman, he was not only known for fine jewelry or crafting weapons suitable for gods and godesses such as Athena's spear, Apollo's golden chariot or Achilles weapons, no. In the early days of his exile, he created automatons - robotic machines, to help him in his workshop and other self-working devices.

And this brings us back to Titan Quest II - soon, a new mastery will hit the shores of ancient Greece, "Forge" will join Earth, Storm, Warfare, and Rogue. With this new mastery, you can strengthen your armor or weapons during a battle, even grant them passive abilities such as reflecting enemy damage. Or deploy different devices, such as a blade trap and lure (or pull) enemies into it. You love synergies between masteries? Forge is made for you: Blade traps for example can be infused with lightning to deal this kind of damage - it's up to you to find all the different combinations, to create the most powerful build!

Introducing a New Mastery: Forge

Heroes,

It’s about time you had some new ways to play the game, right? Soon, you can do just that. We’ve been hard at work to bring you the next mastery, so let’s briefly show you what the upcoming Forge mastery is all about.

The Forge Fantasy

As a Forge user, you will be embodying some of the qualities of the god Hephaestus, particularly when it comes to being a crafty blacksmith and inventor. You will be using your divine powers to manipulate your weapons and armor mid-battle, as well as to deploy armed devices. Expect to be particularly tanky when heavily leaning into Forge, with your damage mostly coming not from your yourself, but your devices.

In order to use most Forge abilities, you will need to collect the Divine Core resource from enemies, rather than relying only on Energy. This means that some of your Energy budget is free to be used by your other mastery if you build your character right, greatly encouraging synergetic ability usage. As an example, you may use this to enhance your devices with different damage types triggered by your ability usage.

Be Unbreakable...

Well, mostly anyway. The Forge mastery will offer you passive and active abilities to increase your armor, resistances and health. Between your core stats and your active abilities, enemies will have a difficult time taking you down. But even beyond that, you will be able to make use of retaliation damage, essentially reflecting a fraction of enemy damage.

In essence, while your devices deal with enemies, you will be able to just take it like a champ, and have more than enough time to hit enemies with further abilities.

...Or Not

What if you just really want to be a glass cannon, and play into cross-mastery synergies? By adding in devices, you could stay out of trouble, and let these do a lot of the work while you can still unleash your other abilities as normal. No need to focus on the defensive aspects! You could simply pull enemies right into your AoE abilities and devices, without much risk to your own skin.

Showcasing Some Abilities

Below are some quick clips to show you some key Forge abilities. Please note this content is still heavily work in progress at the time of writing.

  • Blade Trap: a melee turret equipped with blades that spin. It can detonate when destroyed for Fire damage.

  • Infused Blade Trap: Blade Traps can be infused with elemental damages when using matching abilities (lightning in this case).

  • Chains: get over here! Yep.

  • Ironclad: equips a magical armor, significantly strengthening defences, but slowing movement down. Modified with Iron Shards that will strike enemies that hit you.

More Soon

This was just a very small taste of the mastery. We’ll share more information and raw gameplay in the coming weeks. Please let us know what you think so far in the comments!

Key Features

  • Flexible character system: In Titan Quest 2, you are in control of you own fate. Customize your hero, then form your own class by combining two masteries. Build your character around the strengths and weakness of both masteries, exploring different combinations of skill modifiers, attributes, and items to create your own hybrid class and find your favorite playstyle. Grow your powers from those of a young mortal to a hero to rival the gods themselves!
  • Meaningful loot: Every item serves a function, and every character class has many options when it comes to finding the perfect equipment. Even the most common spear can be upgraded via affix crafting, and with the right ingredients, you may even forge it into a unique item spoken of only in legend!
  • Challenging action RPG combat: Enemies form factions and work together, combining their unique skills and abilities to keep you on your toes. Use the deep character build system and access every skill at your disposal to vanquish them in this unique action RPG experience.
  • A beautiful, handcrafted world rooted in Greek myth: Encounter stunning vistas and deep caverns, and traverse the world with your divine mount, Areion. Use the powers of the gods to uncover secret locations and explore lovingly designed levels full of verticality.
  • Online multiplayer: Join up with friends to take on the Goddess of Retribution. Like Jason and the Argonauts, sometimes you need a group of heroes for your journey.
  • Rich and immersive sound: An atmospheric soundtrack blends traditional Greek music with modern orchestral elements to create epic, memorable themes, drawing you into Titan Quest 2's unique world.

Titan Quest II is coming to PC (Steam / Epic Game Store), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at $49.99 / €49.99.
