'Lilac 0' Is A Vertical Shmup With A Retro Arcade Feel, Coming To PC In March, Playable Demo Available Now - Trailer

by Rainier on Feb. 13, 2025 @ 9:23 a.m. PST

Lilac 0 offers a vintage shmup experience with intense arcade gameplay and authentic retro aesthetics.

The machine world of Molybdion has fallen into disarray. As Nidhogg eats the root of the planet, unending wars rage on the surface, and machines fight endlessly in the sky above.

Slice your way through hordes of metallic foes in five frantic levels, defeat fearsome bosses, and dodge countless bullets in this vintage vertical shoot 'em up.

Its tightly focused design means it can be completed by skilled players in a quick, single sitting, although multiple playthroughs are required to master the game's mechanics, learn its bullet and enemy patterns, and achieve a perfect S-Rank rated run.

A demo for Lilac 0 is available to download now from the game's Steam page. It includes the game's first stage, three difficulties (Novice, Arcade, Master), and leaderboards.

Key features:

  • 2 playable characters for different playstyles
  • 3 difficulty levels for broader accessibility
  • 5 increasingly complex levels
  • Overkill enemies to gain more score
  • Choose between 8 different color pallets
  • Enjoy the chiptune metal soundtrack by Withered Media
  • A vintage pixel art and CRT style evocative of the arcade era

Lilac 0 is coming to PC (Steam) on March 4,2 025 at $11.49 with a 15% launch discount for a limited period.
