'Fellowship' Open Playtest As Part Of Next Week’s Steam Next Fest - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Feb. 18, 2025 @ 4:46 p.m. PST

Fellowship is a 4-player multiplayer online dungeon adventure (“MODA”) game.

Fellowship is a multiplayer online dungeon adventure set in an exciting fantasy setting, with endlessly scaling dungeon runs. Players must focus on working together as a team, with an emphasis on skill, cooperation, and strategy to defeat bosses, collect loot, and work together to overcome ever-present challenges. Experience the “Holy Trinity” and build the ultimate team of tanks, healers and damage dealers to take down hordes of enemies and imposing bosses. Work together with your friends to overcome the greatest challenges, creating unbreakable bonds and memorable moments. Players can also flex their individual skills on the competitive leaderboards that show where you stand in Fellowship.

Fellowship's most unique feature that will set it apart is how it streamlines the dungeon running experience and how players can take part in endlessly scaling dungeon runs. Instead of grinding and spending hours to be able to access and go on endgame-like dungeon runs, with Fellowship, players can dive right into these type of dungeon runs from the beginning. Unlike other titles, including MMOs, there's no barrier of entry at all – whether it’s time commitment-specific or needing to get through a ton of prerequisite content -- for being able to jump into endgame dungeons in Fellowship. Both newcomers and seasoned veterans will discover they can get the dungeon experience they want from the start, as they can choose to play Quick Play Dungeons that offer more casual 10-15-minute dungeon runs or Ranked Dungeons that offer a more competitive experience as they allow players to scale the dungeon difficulty to their liking, choose from various dungeon modifiers, and more.

Persevere, overcome and ascend through the top ranks in Fellowship!

Arc Games and developer Chief Rebel are excited to announce that Fellowship will be participating in Steam Next Fest: February Edition with a Public Playtest available from February 24 to March 3.

During the Public Playtest, Steam players will get to experience plenty of dungeon runs in this new, original title that takes fan-favorite elements of MMOs, MOBAs and ARPGs, including thrilling endgame dungeon runs, a diverse roster of heroes, cooperative, team-focused gameplay and epic loot.

“The time has come to open the gates and give all PC players the chance to experience Fellowship in this public playtest," said Axel Lindberg, CEO and Game Director at Chief Rebel. “With our Closed Alpha playtest in August last year, it was extremely valuable for us in the early stages of Fellowship’s development as not only was it incredible to see so many players going on dungeon runs and of course, having fun, but it was also great getting so much support and feedback. Fellowship will be a constantly evolving adventure, and this upcoming public playtest will let us have even more players jump in, share their feedback and suggestions and help us shape Fellowship before it launches in Early Access on PC this year. Having a public playtest is a huge milestone for us, but also in a way it’s just the beginning -- we can’t wait for you all to jump in this new playtest!”

Public playtesting for Fellowship via Steam will kick off on Monday, February 24 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time and end on Monday, March 3 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. For the Public Playtest, there will be a North America, Europe and Asia server available. This playtest will give players the chance to experience six heroes (two Tanks, two DPS – including a new DPS, Tariq, and two Healers) that will be in Fellowship’s diverse roster of heroes, go on dungeon runs (both Ranked Dungeons and Quick Play Dungeons), take on challenging enemies and acquire epic loot along the way. Compared to the Closed Alpha playtest back in August 2024, in addition to introducing a new DPS hero, Tariq, the Public Playtest introduces new gameplay systems, like a unique gem and item transmutation system, world and party chat, new Curses, new Gear, new Mounts, new visual element improvements and reworks of previous gameplay mechanics based on Closed Alpha player feedback.

Key Features:

  • GATHER YOUR PERFECT TEAM - Play alongside your friends in teams with 4 Player Co-op Multiplayer in a rich, fantasy world full of challenging enemies and exciting rewards. Swap between a large pool of tank, healer and DPS roles with unique kits to build the perfect balance for your team.
  • ENDLESS SCALING REPLAYABILITY - Every run will feel like a brand-new challenge with dungeons that will get more difficult as players progress and level up. Players will never out level the game with seasonal updates, dungeon modifiers, new features and rewards that will keep each run fresh and exciting, adding another layer of replayability.
  • UNIQUE AND COMPLEX BOSS MECHANICS - Each boss has unique and varied mechanics, for a fresh experience every run. Enemy skills grow as difficulty increases and additional modifiers continue to challenge players as they grow and improve.
  • REWARDS, LOOT, AND GEAR GALORE - After each completed dungeon run, players will earn loot to make their characters even more powerful! The tougher the dungeon, the better the rewards.

Fellowship will be a premium, not free-to-play or subscription-based title and is set to launch on PC in 2025.
