Spellrogue is a turn-based, deckbuilding roguelike where you cast powerful spells using your Mana Dice, gain legendary artifacts, upgrade your spells and experiment with potent combinations to annihilate the Voidwalkers corrupting the world. The core gameplay takes an innovative spin on the deckbuilding roguelike loop seen in titles such as Slay The Spire, using dice to create a new layer of strategy to the genre.
Manipulate dice in fun and novel ways to control the fickle Mana Dice and bend their fate to your will. Reroll, duplicate, split, flip and enchant with special effects to take command of the Mana Dice's random nature, and use them to cast your mighty spells.
But beware, the foul Voidwalkers are spreading their influence on the once peaceful inhabitants of the world and has made them ravenous. Battle your way through the Deadwoods, across the Scorched Desert and hunt down the source to cleanse the land of the corruption.
Engage groups of enemies and prioritize your targets carefully. Learn how each of the different opponents are capable of sabotaging your well laid plans when they interact directly with your spells and Mana Dice. The contagious mushrooms may 'infect' your spells with spreading debuffs, while the undead can curse your Mana Dice to roll poorly. The fiery elementals can even set your spells ablaze, hurting you if they are used.
Ghost Ship Publishing and Guidelight Games announced that Spellrogue will be leaving Steam Early Access and launching into 1.0 on April 24th.
After one year of Early Access, the 1.0 launch will introduce SpellRogue’s epic story conclusion with the Final Chapter bringing about the game’s True Ending, alongside a brand-new playable wizard, Sefyra the Windcaller.
At its 1.0 launch, players will be able to set forth each run as one of four unique elemental wizards - water, fire, earth, and the new addition for SpellRogue’s full launch, air. Sefyra the Windcaller is a commander of the skies who uses the element of air to split and swirl Mana Dice to create erratic magic.
New and returning spell casters will finally be able to experience the Final Chapter in SpellRogue’s 1.0 launch, with the True Ending awaiting those who are able to track the source of the arcane blight and stop darkness from overthrowing the land. Alongside the new story content, the full launch also sees the arrival of Daily Challenges, leaderboards, enemy overhauls, quality-of-life improvements, and much more joining over a year’s worth of Early Access updates and content.
“We’re so excited to announce SpellRogue’s full launch will arrive next month, ending the Early Access chapter of our journey and beginning an all new adventure in 1.0,” said Tim Løye Skafte, Co-Founder of Guidelight Games. “Since even before the Early Access launch, we’ve had feedback from an incredible community of players, who have truly helped shape the game into what it is today. We are so grateful to everyone who’s helped us battle the Voidbringers so far, and we can’t wait for 1.0 to welcome a new wave of dice-slingers into the world of SpellRogue.”
