'Teardown' Multiplayer Coming To Campaign Co-op, Competitive And Sandbox Modes On PC Later This Year - Trailer

by Rainier on March 13, 2025 @ 10:31 a.m. PDT

Teardown is a voxel-based destruction game that challenges players to think creatively and strategically to smash their way into buildings to pull off the perfect heist.

Teardown is a voxel based adventure that lets players live out their destructive fantasies with sledgehammers, vehicles, explosives, and more. As the struggling owner of a demolition company, what starts out as some harmless (well, mostly) jobs soon evolves into a more risky proposition. Take on heist jobs that require planning and problem solving. Blow up safes, steal cars, and ransack buildings to meet your goals. Be resourceful and inventive to puzzle your way through each level–there’s no one set solution!

Teardown features 100% fully destructible and interactive environments. Move, manipulate, or outright smash obstacles to create paths, find shortcuts, and finish each job. Teardown’s physics-based gameplay means strategy and creativity are required to avoid sticky situations. From traversing tropical islands to working around a raging tornado, Teardown has a wide variety of levels for players to explore and stretch the limits of their imagination.

In addition to the base campaign, Teardown has a robust modding community that encourages players to let their creativity run wild and make the game their own. Create unique characters and structures and obliterate them into nothingness within moments! Just out for a bit of stress relief? Teardown has a dedicated sandbox mode where players can smash and demolish to their heart's content.

Tuxedo Labs is thrilled to announce that online multiplayer, one of the community’s most highly requested features, is officially coming later this year to Teardown on Steam.

Soon players will be able to team up together in campaign co-op, competitive and sandbox modes in the game’s largest update ever!

"Multiplayer has always been on our minds, and we're thrilled that it's coming into focus now," said Tuxedo Labs CEO Marcus Dawson. “We’ve come a long way, and we’re working hard to get players in on the ground floor to tinker around and break stuff as soon as possible, but we want everyone to know: it’s real, it’s coming, and it’s going to be a blast.”

Teardown will initially introduce multiplayer via the Experimental Branch on Steam, inviting the community to play with new designs and features while providing feedback to the development team. New additions to Teardown's API are also expected to roll out around this time, giving modders an opportunity to update existing mods with multiplayer functionality, as well as imagine completely new in-game creations.

The Teardown team is also hard at work on development of its third and fourth major DLCs, with new details coming later this year.
