You're an ordinary nobody who hasn't done anything noteworthy, let alone...a crime. Must be a mistake, but this morning you were arrested. Pack your stuff and leave as fast as possible, but be wary – every move you make is being followed by a Giant Policeman.
Navigate the city and escape in an engaging experience where every problem has multiple solutions. Manipulate relationships, explore the environment, and choose your path: charm your way out, break the law, or outwit your towering pursuer.
But keep on guard. The town and the Giant are watching your every move.
EXPLORE & PLAN
— While exploring potential ways to get to the train station you see the ticket gate.
And in a true immersive-sim manner, there always are a few options to solve every problem that you face.
MANIPULATE RELATIONSHIPS
— Try to give a gift to the cashier, and she might give you a ticket for free.
We refresh the standard immersive-sim formula by making you manage the characters' moods, similar to tamagotchi or sims-like games.
Publisher Critical Reflex (Mouthwashing, Buckshot Roulette) is thrilled to announce its publishing partnership with indie developer Tallboys on Militsioner.
"They are already helping us with QA to make sure the game still runs smoothly as it grows and grows. The development is in full swing and new features are added regularly, so you’ll hear from us more often from now on!"
Militsioner will be playable at PAX East.
Militsioner’s new trailer offers an extended look at its expansive world and gameplay, including:
- Non-Linear Action: You have tons of freedom to find your own solution to each obstacle. Decide how to spend your time, where to go, who to trust…or snitch on. Run, hide, sneak around, bribe, lie, and manipulate others to get what you want, or break the law and steal what you need. The risks – and the rewards – are yours to discover.
- Tamagotchi-like Relationships: Every character – including the Giant – has their own mood you can influence with a reactive conversation system. Keep the townsfolk happy with flattery and gifts, but be careful not to upset them or they may try to turn you in. You can even go on a date with the Giant! Just be mindful when he’s on duty…
- Dynamic World & Exploration: The city is alive and constantly changing, with new people, places, and secrets around every corner. Each character has their own schedule, and you can change the time of day to find new ways forward. Real-time flooding opens up new areas to discover, and even the eclipse comes with its own intense surprises.
OR BREAK THE LAW
— If you want to keep a gift as a backup in case things go south — just break the ticket gate, or sneak into the cashier’s booth at night to steal a ticket.
IF YOU GET CAUGHT, TAKE YOUR CHANCES AT ESCAPING FROM THE GIANT’S HAND
— While breaking into the cashier's booth you made too much noise and woke up the Giant. Now you need to run for your life and seek shelter.
Safe zones are the homes of the various characters in the city. They may choose to help and invite you in, depending on the strength of your relationship with them. Everything comes at a cost, and if relationships are strained, the player will have to find common ground with the sewer inhabitants.
REPEAT UNTIL YOU FIND YOUR WAY OUT
— Sell off any found or stolen goods to give yourselves an edge moving forward.
Key Features:
- Tamagotchi. Every character in the game, including the lawbringer, has a tamagochi-like mood system.
- Dialogue system. Reactive system with free phrase selection.
- Theft. The player can steal items from the streets, rob apartments, and shops.
- Stealth. The Town is constantly watching. If you piss them off, they’re gonna threaten you with the police. But remember, they hate you as much as they hate the Giant.
- Time. Time is the key. Everyone, from cars and trains to people and Giants, has their own life schedules.
Militsioner is coming to PC (Steam).
