Project Pantheon is a free-to-play live service game that will take players on a journey into a strange afterlife, where they are tasked by Death itself to aid in restoring order to a shattered reality.
Players explore diverse maps, battling enemies in dynamic PvPvE combat. Successful extractions will see players haul back valuable loot, while failure may result in losing their gear for good. In their hidden fortress, players will be upgrading their base, customizing loadouts and experimenting with gear to find their optimal playstyle. An open market will foster a player-driven economy that is going to allow players to trade and support each other.
Immerse yourself in captivating worlds that keep you returning for more. Explore challenging maps, tackle quests, and loot unique gear. Enjoy balanced PvP and PvE with fair rules and strong anti-cheat measures. Easy to learn, challenging to master, and endlessly rewarding.
Project Pantheon’s post-apocalyptic dark fantasy universe draws inspiration from a vast and diverse array of traditional tales and cultures from around the world, immersing players in rich mythology-driven narratives. The journey begins with an exploration of a fantastical reinterpretation of Nordic mythology – The Realm of Fate.
Wolcen Studio released an in-depth interview feature video titled, “What is Project Pantheon,” offering a comprehensive look into Project Pantheon.
The video features key development team members – Narrative Director, Adam Dowden, Game Director, Andrei Chirculete, and Art Director, Elliot Bocxtaele – who dive into the game’s unique concept, its dark fantasy universe where all mythology is real, and what sets it apart in today’s gaming landscape.
Viewers will gain insights into the game’s immersive world-building, innovative genre combination (extraction game and top-down action RPG), the role of “dead gods” as explorable landmarks, and the visceral art style that brings this nightmarish world to life.
For the first time, the video includes a brief glimpse of actual gameplay – as Wolcen Studio is keeping most gameplay under wraps for now – along with a sneak peek at the symbol that will define Project Pantheon’s final appearance.

Closed Alpha 3
Closed Alpha 3 (CA3) test for Project Pantheon is set to take place from July 25, 2025 at 7 PM CEST/1 PM EST/10 AM PDT until July 27th at 7 AM CEST/1 AM EST/10 PM PDT in North America, Europe and South-East Asia.
CA3 will focus on introducing a full list of technical advancements, new features and quality-of-life-improvements including a brand-new crafting system, story questline, enemy types to the Hamforir faction, and more.
Players interested in participating can sign up starting today here.
Closed Alpha 3 Key Features:
- Ratatoskr Questline: In Whispers of War, players will be helping Ratatoskr start a faction war between the Reavers and the Shifters.
- New Enemy Types added to the Hamforir faction:
- The Hulk is a powerful close range spellcaster that wants to stay up close to his target while also being able to control the battlefield.
- The Werewolf is an agile enemy that thrives in prolonged encounters.
- The Wolf is a simple enemy that is normally a minor inconvenience but can become a serious threat in large packs.
- Player Sanctuary - Buildings & Crafting: Feedback for constructing buildings was improved.
- New feature: Crafting! To craft, players need recipes. Recipes are objects that can be found while looting enemies and chests and can also be sometimes given as quest or challenge rewards. Players will need to extract with them to be able to use them in Sanctuary.
- CA3 will serve as an introduction of the Crafting system, but Wolcen Studio does plan to expand on it with the following updates, both in quantity of items / materials, but also in complexity, adding more depth to the system itself.
- Wolcen Studio will also be expanding the Crafting Island with the following buildings:
- The Armory is where you craft all armor equipment.
- The Smithy is where you craft all types of weapons.
- The Arcane Atelier is where you craft Sigils (which you use to customize weapons with various abilities at the Workshop) and Potions.
- Ultimate Powers: Reduced availability from the get-go, allowing for a more meaningful and strategic use.
- New Gauge System for Ultimates: Instead of cooldowns, their new "resource" is a meter that fills up based on player activity (doing damage, using health abilities, taking damage in certain cases). The Ultimates become available to use once the gauge fills up.
- More Dungeons: Increasing the number of available dungeons to 11 and will feature different sizes, ranging from small up to large ones, and the challenge will ramp up accordingly. The dungeons are locked at session start, and you need to unlock them, like in Closed Alpha 2 (CA2), by finding their corresponding keys.
- New Extraction Types: Adding two additional Obelisk types that don't have players fight for the extraction with enemies in a closed dome, but they have other particularities (free first-come-first-serve extraction; extract by paying gold)
While the game has been in development for more than a year and is currently in the early alpha stage of development, Wolcen Studio aims to give players a voice in driving essential game updates to help shape the world’s future as development progresses.
Project Pantheon is in development for PC (Steam).
