'Cronos: The New Dawn' Reveals More Story And The Warden Details, Shows Off Krakow’s Nowa Huta Region - Trailer

Cronos: The New Dawn is a sci-fi survival horror game with a twisted time travel story set in an unforgiving post-apocalyptic future in 1980s Poland.

Cronos: The New Dawn is Bloober Team’s first original IP in the survival horror genre, marking a significant step forward for the Polish studios’ evolution as the masters of horror, known most recently for the acclaimed Silent Hill 2 remake.

Set in a grim world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futurist technology, Cronos: The New Dawn lets you experience a gripping story that straddles the line between past and future.

In the past, you will witness a world in the throes of The Change, a cataclysmic event that forever altered humanity. Meanwhile, in the ravaged wastelands of the future, every moment is a fight for survival against dangerous abominations that will test both your reflexes and your tactical thinking.

Step into the world of Cronos: The New Dawn with the newest episode of the Developer Diary, where Bloober Team dives deep into the game's rich narrative.

Discover why humanity fell, uncover the Traveler’s true role, and get to know the enigmatic Warden more closely.

At the heart of the story is the mysterious Traveler — a figure central to the fate of humanity. As the game’s release approaches, the development team — Klaudia Sewera, Game Producer, and Grzegorz Like, Lead Narrative Designer and Lead Writer — unveils more about the game’s complex narrative in a new episode of the Dev Diary: how souls are extracted, who must be chosen, and what the true purpose of the Travelers is. This isn’t just a horror story — it’s a journey through time, identity, and the haunting remains of a broken world.

Additionally, players will become more familiar with a new character: the Warden, first introduced in the recent, standout story trailer - an enigmatic Traveler whose presence and philosophy stand in stark contrast to those of the protagonist. Voiced by Alan Turkington, the Warden oversees the tools and maintains the hub where players spend much of their time throughout the game.

You are a Traveler acting as an agent for the enigmatic Collective, tasked with scouring the wastelands of the future in search of specific time rifts that will transport you back to 1980s-era Poland.

Your mission is to locate key people from the past who perished in the ensuing apocalypse. Using your all-powerful Harvester, you can extract their Essences and have them accompany you into the future.

In a desolate world filled with ever-present danger, your survival hinges on your ability to strategize and plan ahead. The enemies you’ll encounter are nightmarish creatures, born from the remnants of humanity – defeating them will require you to make full use of your arsenal. During battle, quick decisions can mean the difference between life and death.

Cronos: The New Dawn is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam) on September 5, 2025
