Rengoku 2 tells a story parallel to the events of Tower of Purgatory, as players assume the role of A.D.A.M., a battle android trapped in a mysterious tower filled with fearsome enemies. This tower has eight floors, with the first seven levels corresponding to one of the original Seven Deadly Sins, and A.D.A.M. must purge it of the mechanical scourge hosted inside.

As players progress through the tower's eight uniquely designed floors as A.D.A.M., they will utilize a high-tech arsenal of firearms, explosives and melee weapons to defeat the horde of enemies that oppose them. Picking up rare and unique items from fallen enemies, players can use more than 300 unique weapon combinations, strategically choosing different sets of armaments to best dispatch their adversaries. With character designs by renowned visualist Jun Suemi, Rengoku 2 features breathtaking graphics that immerse the player in the bleak, industrial world that A.D.A.M. has sworn to protect while providing visual clues that keep gamers in the sweet spot of action while progressing to the next battle.

Boasting several new multiplayer modes, Rengoku 2 lets up to four players engage in competitive combat through the PSP system's ad-hoc wireless functionality. Players can also wirelessly share portions of the game with other PSP systems in order to play with friends that do not own the game. Downloadable content such as maps, weapons and items will be made available though the PSP system's infrastructure mode, letting players continue A.D.A.M.'s quest in new environments with additional equipment.

"Rengoku 2 introduces all new gameplay elements to one of the PSP system's most popular action franchises, including an expanded arsenal of advanced weaponry and larger open-air environments," said Colin Ferris, Associate Product Manager at Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. "The game places great emphasis on the PSP system's wireless functionality, allowing players to embark on quests and even download items to create the ultimate android warrior."

Rengoku 2 will be launching Summer 2006.
