Lunar Knights is an original action role-playing game from Kojima Productions for the Nintendo DS. Featuring a unique day and night gameplay mechanic, players will be able to hunt down the armies of the undead around the clock as two different playable characters and unleash powerful elemental attacks using the Nintendo DS touch screen. Lunar Knights utilizes a compelling storyline told through high-quality animated cutscenes and unique gameplay elements to deliver an original role-playing experience to the Nintendo DS.

Day passes into night in Lunar Knights, as players take on the role of a lunar-enhanced warrior and firearm-wielding fighter powered by the sun, bent on destroying the evil forces of the undead. Together they must explore their land, improve their skills, solve puzzles and uncover the secrets behind the dark forces that oppose them. The game features an innovative internal time system that cycles between night and day and generates real-time weather effects, granting additional power to each character's unique abilities while impacting the types of enemies the two heroes encounter on their journey. The game's story will be told through animated cutscenes by Studio 4 Degrees, the studio behind the acclaimed animated films "Memories" and "The Animatrix."

As they advance on their quest to vanquish the darkness that has engulfed their land, the two warriors will be accompanied by a Terranial that will help them find their way through the environment and also assist in battle. Utilizing the Nintendo DS touch screen and microphone, players can input a variety of commands that correspond to different elemental attacks for the Terranial. As the Terranial becomes proficient with his elemental skills, he will acquire additional touch screen and microphone-based skills and attacks.

After defeating one of the game's bosses, players will take flight in their Casket Rocket to dispose of their enemies' undead remains. Through numerous and intense 3D space shooting levels, players will be able to use the Nintendo DS touch screen to guide their ship and unleash an explosive arsenal on their enemies.

"Kojima Productions has combined fast-paced action with groundbreaking real-time environment effects to create Lunar Knights, an original action role-playing game for the Nintendo DS," said Colin Ferris, Associate Product Manager with Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "With its innovative day and night cycle, two playable characters and extensive touch screen support, the game takes full advantage of the Nintendo DS's unique features to deliver one of the most immersive and entertaining experiences available on any system."

Lunar Knights will ship to stores in Winter 2006/07.
