Company of Heroes 2 is an RTS game that moves the battle away from the common Western Front focus of World War II and refocuses on some of history’s most brutal and devastating conflicts on the Eastern Front.

Reggie Carolipio: I've lost count of how many times I've pushed myself through Hill 192's firestorm before eking out a pyrrhic victory. Relic's Company of Heroes was a brutal slog through many of the toughest battles from the Normandy campaign, but it was a fantastic and beautiful mash-up of visuals and tactical trickery channeling the days when SSI ruled the battlefield. I loved it. The sequel won't be covering only one campaign — it's covering the entire war from the Soviet perspective. It's going to be fun in finding out how Relic has stuffed it all into one game.

Tony "OUberLord" Mitera: If there are any silver linings to be considered through THQ's demise, it is that it has some really talented people working on Company of Heroes 2. The original game still holds up as a fantastic piece of work, and it was the first to introduce the squad mechanics of controlling units. CoH2 amps up things further by adding a new side in the form of the Russian army and the brutality of the Russian winter. Sure, the volumetric smoke now provides dynamic obscurity and units slowly trudging through snowbanks are easy pickings, but having to work with and against the dynamic weather adds a whole new wrinkle to even the best-laid tactical plans.

Rainier Van Autrijve: Strategy games have always been my favorite. Nothing makes me happier than making a base, creating troops and laying waste to the enemy. For a long time, Command & Conquer was my game, but Relic Entertainment changed that with Company of Heroes. I've played through the game multiple times, played through all the expansion packs, and have been chomping at the bit for a sequel. I was overjoyed when THQ finally announced Company of Heroes 2, which will now be published by SEGA. The level of detail in the original game was amazing, and Relic has been working on its new Essence 3 engine, which sports even more realism. The Nazis are still the enemy, but this time, we move to the Eastern Front, a much harsher climate that will be emphasized by the new ColdTech weather system. Relic has also been working on Company of Heroes Online and has hopefully learned some lessons that it can incorporate into CoH2.
