About Judy

As WP's managing editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

20. 'Kingdom Come: Deliverance' (PS4/XOne/PC)

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an open-world, action-adventure, role-playing game featuring a nonlinear story and revolutionary, first-person melee combat.

Michael Keener: Fight for Bohemia! The most exciting thing about Kingdom Come: Deliverance is the freedom that is allowed. The open world, deep storyline, and non-linear aspects will draw players into the experience. I also like that the combat looks like a first-person version of For Honor.

Tony "OUberLord" Mitera: When it comes to fantasy, I'm a big fan of grittier versions, where instead of magic and elves, it's mud caked on worn armor. Kingdom Come: Deliverance has been years in the making, and for the longest time, it was far from certain that the game would see the light of day. The title seems like an ambitious take on historical accuracy and realism, with a world that looks to be trying its best to feel like a living one. I'm hopeful that the game is as deep as it has the potential to be, so I can get lost in it for hours.

Rainier Van Autrijve: Medieval times have always held a special interest to me, whether it's the lore of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, or the mystique and secrecy surrounding the Templar Knights. In a nutshell, KC:D is a historical open-world action/RPG with a heavy focus on melee combat, and that alone should pique your interest. The fantastic graphics are powered by CryEngine, the combat is brutal and realistic because you're not just wildly swinging your ax, mace or sword but also anticipating your opponent's moves and acting accordingly. Add in some puzzles, problem-solving, exploration of areas based on historical locations, and choices having long-term effects, and you've got a lot of ingredients for a hit title.
