Chris "Atom" DeAngelus: Black Myth: Wukong has been one of those games that has been in development forever but looks better each time it is shown. Putting players in the shoes of the famous Monkey King, Black Myth: Wukong looks to be a blend of Dark Souls and Devil May Cry, with fast-paced and intense action in a distinctive and beautiful mythological setting. The long wait for Wukong is almost over, and it has the potential to be a breakout hit.
Cody Medellin: A number of Unreal Engine 5 games were released in 2023, and they were good, but the demo videos for Black Myth: Wukong from 2020 are still more impressive, especially when you realize that the dev team was unknown and relatively small — at least at the time. Black Myth: Wukong has a release date of late August 2024, so we'll finally be able to see if it can maintain the luster of that original trailer and be a solid game.
Rainier Van Autrijve: For many people, Black Myth: Wukong came out of nowhere almost four years ago when it surprise-dropped a gameplay trailer that had me wondering, "Is this legit?" Based on the Monkey King mythology and the 16th Century Journey To The West novel, Black Myth: Wukong has some of the smoothest combat I have ever seen running on Unreal Engine 5, and it's only further enhanced with NVIDIA DLSS. The game simply looks spectacular when you dodge, somersault or backflip. Fans of Dark Souls, Elden Ring or Ninja Gaiden will be over the moon when Black Myth: Wukong drops in August 2024.
