SEGA of America today confirmed that SEGA Corp. has agreed to transfer all common stock and related assets of Visual Concepts, the developer of the ESPN 2K5 series of sports games, to Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Last year it was already revealed that Take wo had the option of buying Visual Concepts after Sega and Take Two went into a codistribution deal for the ESPN titles.

Empire has announced an optimized version of last year's Mashed, a top down racing game that pits up to four players against each other in a gladiatorial racing battle. Mashed: Fully Loaded, is not a sequel as the new version will mostly have the same content, just with an updated gfx, optimized camera controls, improved power-up system, additional tournament and training mode, new tracks, and a total of 15 cars each with their own specific handling. Epic Games today announced the grand prize winners of the $1,000,000 NVIDIA Make Something Unreal mod-making contest. The grand prize for Best Mod is awarded to Red Orchestra, an immersive combined arms infantry and armored vehicle combat simulation set on the eastern front of World War II. The development team behind the winning entry receives $50,000 in cash and a coveted Unreal Engine commercial license worth approximately $350,000.

One hundred years have passed since the evil Sorcerer Zarok was defeated at the Battle of Gallowmere, heroically cut down by a mortally wounded Sir Daniel Fortesque. Or at least, that's what the people were told; in fact poor Sir Dan was a bit of a coward, falling in the very first wave of arrows. Now Zarok has returned, turning day into night, and raising an undead army to conquer the land.
