inXile entertainment today announced that The Bard's Tale, its eagerly anticipated action-role playing game (RPG) for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox video game system, is shipping to retail outlets in North America today. The title is being distributed by Vivendi Universal Games.

Gearbox President Randy Pitchfork always claimed there would be multiple games in the Brothers In Arms franchise, it is still a surprise that a sequel is already in the works months before the original is released. At a European press event C&VG learned from Gearbox's military adviser Colonel John Antal that part of the Euro press tour was also being used as research for BIA 2. "We're working on the sequel," Colonel John Antal said and also added "We're going to follow Sgt. Matt Baker through World War II, I think people are going to want to hear his story." Operation Market Garden or Battle of The Bulge are being considered for the the sequel.

BioWare Opens Online Content Store

BioWare today announced the launch of the BioWare Online Store, an internet-based marketplace. The store will offer premium Neverwinter Nights game content. The modules will be developed by BioWare staff, as well as by prominent members of the Neverwinter Nights fan community, and will be produced by BioWare and Atari, utilizing the Dungeons & Dragons property under license from Hasbro and its subsidiary, Wizards of the Coast.
