The Day of Defeat: Source Palermo Update adds 51 achievements, player avatar displays in the scoreboard and win panel, and detailed player statistics that are integrated with the Steam Community features. Also added are the nemesis/revenge freeze cam, and new effects driven by the particle system introduced to the Source engine for TF2, as well as a new map, Palermo, which is a remix of the most popular community map, dod_salerno, originally created by Magnar "insta" Jennsen.

Valve's WWII online FPS Day Of Defeat is getting a new "beta" update adding support for Steamworks which not only adds 51 achievements, player avatar display in the scoreboard and win panel, but also detailed player statistics integrated with the Steam Community features, a new map (dod_Palermom remake of community map dod_salerno), nemesis/revenge freeze cam and new effects driven by the particle system introduced to the Source engine for Team Fortress 2.

As promised Valve has released its Day of Defeat: Source Summer 2006 update featuring a free map pack, a new gameplay style, Detonation, two brand new missions (Jagd, Colmar). On top of that, it will also add new gameplay enhancements such as spawn clip adjustments, improved hit location detection, and weapon balancing.

Valve announced today that Day of Defeat: Source will be made available to gamers everywhere on September 26. DoD: Source takes the classic teamplay of DoD and expands the experience with Source, the engine technology Valve created for Half-Life 2 and it's next generation of games. Valve announced today that DoD: Source is nearing completion and will be available before end of the month. An exact release date is not finalized yet, but people will be able to preload the game one week before its official launch. Day of Defeat: Source will be available as an individual purchase via Steam, as well as part of the Counter-Strike: Source retail package that will be available at stores around the same time. Half-Life 2: Silver and Gold package customers will automatically be able to play.
