Trauma Studios might no longer be on the project since they got bought by DICE, but that does not mean the end of the BF1942 'Desert Combat' mod. A new Desert Combat Final client and win32/Linux server files are now available offering tons of game balacing, bug fixes, new/updated sound/texture, and several new vehicles. Part of Public Beta 0.7 is fixing issues that came up with the BF1942 v1.6 patch but also new maps, and most of all optimization and bug fixes, so you can expect DesertCombat to run a lot better on most machines.
