Microsoft has released an updated demo for Big Huge Games' 3D RTS allowing you to try out the previous content (part of the Alin campaign, 2 skirmish maps ), but now with optimized gfx, AI and a 3rd map Battle for the Core.
UPDATE: Microsoft distributed a corrupt install, which has now been replaced with the working copy. We also have a demo fix in case you do not want to download the big whopper all over again.

Tomorrow Big Huge Games will release a demo for its upcoming RTS sequel Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, promising to immerses players in a unique new fantasy world embroiled in an epic war between the forces of Magic and Technology. Rise of Legends is in so many ways the spiritual successor to Rise of Nations, but the long and the short of it is we got excited about doing a fantasy game. Now clearly your traditional "orcs, elves, dwarves" sort of fantasy has been—shall we say—thoroughly covered in other games, and so the story which got us excited is one where the magic of fantasy meets a world of technology. So magic and technology collide, with cataclysmic results.

Microsoft has released a demo for Big Huge Games' 'Rise of Nations: Thrones and Patriots'. The demo features four nations: the Persians from the expansion pack, and three others from the original game. Players will be able to play through the tutorial and then get a taste of the Alexander the Great campaign, one of four historical campaigns in the retail version. Gamers will also be able to try their hand on the battlefield on one of three different random map types.
