Electronic Arts announced that The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King game has begun to ship nationwide on all platforms and will be in stores everywhere on November 6, 2003. EA’s second “The Lord of the Rings” action adventure game, The Lord of the Rings, The Return of the King, will allow players to journey through multiple gameplay paths, taking control of the motion picture trilogy’s heroes. Defend the walls of Minas Tirith as Gandalf, raise the Army of the Dead as Aragorn, Legolas, or Gimli, and with Frodo and Sam, deliver the ring to the fiery depths of Mount Doom. This second trailer, which is cinematic in style as befitting the game's epic scope, is nonetheless entirely composed of gameplay footage. In it, all the main playable characters--Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, Gandalf, Sam, and Frodo--are shown in action.

EA is pleased to announce that The Lord of the Rings; The Return of the King has officially gone gold for all platforms—PlayStation 2, Xbox, PC, GameCube, and Game Boy Advance. After yesterday Judge Dredd demo, we have another magazine cover disc upload. Directly off the latest North American PC Gamer is a demo for EA's upcoming action-adventure game Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. This demo features a mission where "The Citizens of Minas Tirith must be saved! Get 200 Gondorian women through the exit, up to the next level of Minas Tirith. The invading horde will try to stop you at this task, and dispatching them quickly will allow you accomplish your goal at a faster pace! EA has released 3 small trailers for their upcoming action game based on the Lord Of The Rings movie, Return Of The King, showing off the deadly mountain troll pushing a siege tower, Aragorn slicing and dicing his way through enemies with Gimli fighting along side him and Gandalf using his mighty magical powers to bring multiple enemies to the ground with this powerful ground smashing technique.
