Konami Pre-E3 Event Summary

Los Angeles – On May 11th, 2004, Konami unveiled their E3 2004 lineup in a pre-show, held at the Los Angeles Public Library and Auditorium for a select audience of industry journalists.
These preshows have a certain pattern to them. A company rents a location, hires caterers, and fills a bunch of writers up with plentiful food and liquor until our judgement is almost certainly impaired. Then, and only then, do they show us the games. It is a clever plan, only occasionally derailed by the near-superhuman drinking capacity of many video game journalists
In Konami’s case, they really shouldn’t’ve bothered. As

Stargate SG-1: The Alliance will be an action-based game playable in the first- or third- person perspective. Depending on the mission, there will be other tasks that have elements of team tactics, puzzle-solving and stealth. First and foremost, you will never walk alone – your team will be there to look after you, but you will also have to look after them, so it differs from most "straight" shooters.

Microsoft got to kick off the festivities of the new, slimmer, slightly more disorganized E3. While there were no bombshells, the presentation was slick and aggressive. Journalists got to see new trailers, game demos, and some new information about release dates. Microsoft seems to be repositioning for a battle with Nintendo's red-hot Wii system, now that Sony's all but taken itself out of the race. This means a sudden change of emphasis onto appealing outside of the traditional gaming audience with which Microsoft's always done well. During Microsoft's E3 2009 Media Briefing, it not only revealed that Facebook, Twitter and Last.fm are coming to Xbox Live, new Netflix and HDTV features and controller-free gaming, but also showed off a slew of titles such as Splinter Cell Conviction, Crackdown 2, Forza Motorsport 3, Halo: Reach and a bunch more.

Konami's E3 2009 press conference ended up being extremely top-heavy, but that's what you get when Hideo Kojima shows up from the start to announce Kojima Productions' four-game lineup.
After a bit of the mysterious storm footage, Kojima revealed Metal Gear Arcade. Currently planned for Japanese arcades, it's basically a 3 version of Metal Gear Online with save cards. A U.S. release will hopefully be coming, possibly with a different cabinet. Entertainment® announced today that its video game Wallace & Gromit(TM) in Project Zoo will be on display in the Nintendo® booth at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), May 14-16, 2003.
