God of War III will bring epic battles to life with stunning graphics and an elaborate plot that puts Kratos at the center of the carnage and destruction as he seeks revenge against the Gods who have betrayed him. SCEA Santa Monica's Director of Technology Christer Ericson revealed that God of War III reached gold status and is being sent off for manufacturing.

Luckily, the Olympics and work kept us busy throughout the week so, as customary, we have a slew of TV series to catch up on.

What's with all these '80s hair bands making a return lately? I've picked up new albums from Dokken, Ratt, Tesla, WASP and Winger. Even Kiss' Ace Frehley managed to squeeze out a solo album. However, the most interesting new acquisition is undoubtedly Them Crooked Vultures, another side project from Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones.

Valkyria Chronicles is set in a fictitious continent reminiscent of 1930s Europe - divided in two and ruled by the Empire and the Federation. The game follows a hero named Welkin and his fellow soldiers of the Federation's 7th Platoon as they engage in a series of epic battles.
