Sony Acquires 'Killzone' Developer Guerrilla Games

Sony Computer Entertainment today announced that it has acquired leading developer Guerrilla Games to further expand its development capability as part of Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS). In a strategic move to secure long term excellence in game development for current and future PlayStation platforms, the acquisition of Guerrilla has formalised the already close working relationship between SCE and the studio.

We hope that some of you will have enough time on your hands to give our new game, Shattered Union, a try. We don't have a demo for it yet, but if you keep your eyes open you should be seeing one in the not-so-distant future."

ESRB Flunks NIMF Watchdog Group Across The Board

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) today assigned a failing grade of "F" to the National Institute for Media and Family (NIMF) for its seriously flawed Video Game Report Card released last week. The ESRB cited inaccuracies, incomplete and misleading statements, omission of material facts, and flawed research as key factors in assigning the failing grade.

Introversion has released a new patch for its action game Darwinia. The updated demo features an entirely new scenario not included in the full game, new icon-based control mechanism and a tutorial to make the game easier for newcommers.
