The most talked-about robot action game of the year took a major step towards retail availability as Enix America Inc. today announced that Robot Alchemic Drive (R.A.D.) for the PlayStation2 has gone gold. Supported by a new official web site located at www.enix.com/rad, R.A.D. is on schedule to ship nationwide on November 5.

R. Matthews Creates Artwork For 'Haven: Call Of The King'

Midway announced today that Rodney Matthews, a world-renowned fantasy and science fiction illustrator, has created artwork and concepts for Midway's groundbreaking action and fantasy console videogame, Haven: Call Of The King, which is scheduled to ship Nov. 18 for the PS2. Haven: Call Of The King is also scheduled to ship for the Xbox and GameCube in 2003. Haven: Call Of The King is being developed by acclaimed U.K.-based developer, Traveller's Tales.

This will give parents, shoppers and online consumers added confidence that the content of the game, whether it is bought at a high street retail outlet, or accessed via the internet, is suitable for a specific age group. The development is significant in that it is the first time that any form of entertainment medium has come up with an age rating system that meets the varying cultural standards of different European countries.

Severance Are Working On A New Game

Mercurysteam Entertainment, the Madrid-based computer game developer, has just released its corporate website. The Projects section has some artwork posted related to MSE first project. MSE's first title, which name they have not unveiled yet, will be "a shaking 3D arcade with tons of action, humour and an awesome multiplayer component", tells Dario Halle, co-founder and lead programmer, and it's planned to release during 2004.
