Infogrames let us know that that Sid Meier’s Civilization III: Play the World has gone gold and will reach stores as early as November 1. Sid Meier's Civilization III: Play The World will include three different Internet and LAN game styles, including turn-based, simultaneous, and for the first time in a Civilization game, a turnless mode. Civilization game fans around the world can now face off in short, fast-paced games like Elimination, Regicide and Capture the Flag or play a more traditional Civilization-style game; in addition the expansion will support "Play by Email" and Hotseat games and will include multiplayer scenario support.

'Ghost Recon' Patch v1.4 Available

Ubi Soft today released a 5.7MB big patch that updates Red Storm's tactical shooter, Ghost Recon, to version 1.4. Here is some info about this patch:

  • You must have Island Thunder or GR patch 1.3 with Ghost Recon installed first.

  • Players will be REQUIRED to use the GR CD after installing the patch. Previous versions of Ghost Recon will no longer be compatible with version 1.4.

'Breed' & 'Imperium Galactica III' Release Dates

CDV Software Entertainment UK has today revised the release dates for two of its hotly-tipped PC CD-ROM titles in order to add some crucial features and ensure the finished titles devastate the competition. Hungarian developer Mithis Games has joined CDV and Philos Labs to work on space strategy title Imperium Galactica III. Originally planned for release at the end of 2002, the extra development time will allow the team to add a new multiplayer mode - extending the shelf life of this already colossal game.
