Sony Announces 'Rise to Honor' (PS2) - Screens

Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. announced today the Fall 2003 release of Rise to Honor (working title), a fast-paced action-adventure game inspired by the excitement and cinematic styling of the Hong Kong action movie genre, developed exclusively for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system. Created by Sony Computer Entertainment America's Foster City Studio in collaboration with action star Jet Li (The One, Kiss of the Dragon, Lethal Weapon 4, The Bodyguard from Beijing, Fist of Legend, Shaolin Temple), Rise to Honor will immerse players into a chain of lethal missions that extend from Hong Kong to San Francisco.

Shrapnel Games announced today that the first Space Empires: IV Gold patch. This patch, v1.78, adds features and enhancements and fixes bugs. Besides fixing a number of small bugs, the AI has been tweaked and some additional fixes were added to TCP/IP play.

Metro3D, Inc. today announced that it has partnered with Developer Irem Software Engineering Inc. to introduce Sub Rebellion for the Sony PlayStation 2 game console. This fast-paced 3-dimensional submarine exploration shooter, which was released as -U- Underwater Unit in Japan this May 2002, is slated for a U.S. release in October 2002, and features a "Teen" ESRB Rating.

Guess how many people have applied to change their names to "Turok"?? No, go on, guess.

Acclaim UK invited applications to take part in a project known as Identity Marketing, whereby individuals will change their names by deed poll to Turok, the hero in the title of Acclaim's epic new release, Turok: Evolution. In a little over 12 hours, over 3,000 people have applied to swap their identities for those of a video game character and new applications are being submitted to the website that is dedicated to this project at the rate of 20-30 per minute.

There is a Dragon's Lair 3D trailer at PC.IGN.com, showing the cel-shaded third-person action adventure by DragonStone Software in motion. The movie requires a 30.2 MB download in MPEG format and offers two minutes of introductory and action-packed gameplay footage. The official Beam Breakers site offers a new Beam Breakers trailer of this futuristic flying car racing game by German developers Similis. You can download or stream the movie in four different resolutions (7-10 MB), and it sports a minute of DivX footage introducing the game's premise and showing some fast-paced gameplay. Elixir Studios' offers downloads of a new Republic: the Revolution movie trailer in high quality DivX format (47.5 MB) as well as medium quality AVI format (27.0 MB) but both in 320x240 resolution, showing the game's setting, detailed cities and more in some two and a half minutes of in-engine footage.
