GBA Review - 'Davis Cup Tennis'

by The Cookie Snatcher on Feb. 23, 2003 @ 11:52 p.m. PST | Filed under Reviews

With more than 100 years of tradition behind it, the Davis Cup is the premier team competition in tennis. The symbol of this prestigious competition is the beautiful silver Davis Cup trophy, donated by Harvard student Dwight Filley Davis in 1900. In the early years, only two nations competed for temporary ownership of the Davis Cup trophy, the United States and the British Isles. In 2002, 142 nations have entered the competition for the honor of bringing the trophy home making the Davis Cup an institution in the tennis world and a matter of national pride for the winning team.

'Foo' - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Feb. 23, 2003 @ 3:02 p.m. PST | Filed under News

Set in ancient China, Foo will challenge you and your competitors to enter palaces and temples before dawn, loot them for as much treasure as you can carry, and escape before the sun rises. Before setting out carefully plan what traps to take with you for your unwitting competitors - but beware, the more trap components you take in the less treasure you'll be able to carry out and the slower you'll move and react to the traps set out by other players. Foo is a unique "sneak, steal and trap-em-up" game of malicious pleasure with gameplay summarized as "Thief" meets "Spy vs. Spy", with the general feel of an animated feature crossed with the comical morbidity and brutality of "Itchy and Scratchy ".

'UT 2003' - BonusPack Delayed & New Patch Info

by Thomas on Feb. 23, 2003 @ 9:21 a.m. PST | Filed under News

There is some new information on Infogrames Unreal Tournament 2003 forum, letting us know that the upcoming bonuspack is delayed (thanks Blues). They also posted up info about what they done so far for the next patch. Here is a clip from the bonuspack posting:

A lot of unexpected issues have come up that have delayed the release of the bonus pack. We had to release patch 2186 before the bonuspack, because the bonuspack relies on some functionality added in 2186. Testing and releasing that patch took a little longer than expected. Then, we had to make a new version for Germany to satisfy the German requirements to avoid having the game "indexed". After that, we had to make another patch (2199) to address the server exploits that were published.

Gamecube Review - 'Dragon's Lair 3D'

by The Cookie Snatcher on Feb. 23, 2003 @ 2:02 a.m. PST | Filed under Reviews

Dragon's Lair 3D is an entirely new, built-from-the-ground-up, three-dimensional version of the highly successful 1980's coin-op phenomenon. While it stays true to the design and storyline of the arcade game, it offers a 3D experience unlike anything else Dragon's Lair fans have played before. Princess Daphne has been kidnapped by the evil dragon Singe and hidden in a medieval castle owned by Mordroc, a powerful and malevolent wizard. To save her, players take on the persona of Dirk the Daring, a goofy but courageous knight.
