'Wolfschanze 1944' Gets Delayed

Wolfschanze is an FPS/TPP game that takes place in World War 2 reality and is inspired by actual events. Developer Calaris announced that it is pushing back its action game a few months, reason : "The premiere will be delayed because we want to brush up the whole material. The end of work is planned for august." Originally scheduled for June, it has been postponed until August (thanks Blues).

'Monster Hunter 2' (PS2) Revealed

The latest Famitsu issue has word that Capcom is working on a standalone sequel for its online RPG, Monster Hunter. Improvements will include more weapons, a greater focus on grouping, and a much larger environment, with a dynamic day/night cycle, including season changing. This will have an effect on overall gameplay, as certain animals will only be accessible during specific times of the day. Owners of Monster Hunter 2 will also be able to connect with its little PSP brother, Monster Hunter Portable. Expected release date is end of the year in Japan.

Ubisoft's Second Canadian Development Studio Opens For Business

Today Ubisoft officially opens its door in the provincial capital where it intends to invest 75 M$ CAD and create 200 jobs within five years. Ubisoft will start with 75 jobs in Quebec City this year. The new production studio will be located in the heart of the Saint-Roch district at 390, Charest East.

In Jaws, players assume the role of a Great White shark driven to a predacious frenzy by the sonic emanations of underwater oil drilling equipment. To defend their underwater territory, players undertake a campaign to drive the raiders away while simultaneously solving a series of action-based puzzles designed to thwart the player. Majesco has launched the official Jaws Unleashed website, which is scheduled for release August 2005.

'Battlefield 2' Goes Gold

Various fan sites have received word, one way or another, that DICE's Battlefield sequel has gone gold today and will appear in stores starting Tuesday, June 21, 2005. In Battlefield 2, players will choose to fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, China, or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of any of the game's 30+ vehicles to engage in major conflicts with over 100 players in some of the largest online battles on the PC.

A recent case of suicide by a boy addicted to Internet games has increased the public's concern over the issue of Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD). Xiao Yi, a 13-year-old from Tianjin, committed suicide thinking that he would meet his friends from cyber space after he died. He jumped from the top of a 24-storey high-rise, Beijing Youth Daily reported yesterday.
