ActiveXbox claims to have received confirmation from Microsoft that there will be no more backwards compatibility updates through Xbox Live allowing you to play Xbox titles on the new Xbox 360, until at least March. "This will come as a disappointment to many new Xbox 360 users, not only because the lack of new 360 titles but also any new plain Xbox titles they may like the look of (Black for example) will not work on their shiny new 360. It is no wonder less Xbox games are being sold now."

Valve lastest
Steam Update has a few details on what to expect in the near future. The Counter-Strike: Source map Militia wasa big success and Valve plans to include 2 new player models, one from each side, in the next major Counter-Strike: Source release. As testing wraps up, Valve will release a new DoD: Source map, Kalt. A Day of Defeat: Source retail box available at software retailers around the start of February.

Yesterday many RPG fans got disappointed when the Heroes of Might & Magic 5 open beta which was set to launch, didn't. Ubisoft wanted to "make the experience as smooth as possible for all those involved." According to the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine, Dutch developer Guerilla is not only working on Killzone for the PS3, but also Killzone Liberation exclusively for the PSP. The new game will not be a first person shooter but be played from isometric view, like Metal Gear Solid, with an emphasis on stealth, having you use the the environment. in KL you play as Templar and tasked with rescuing prisoners behind enemy lines, and will also feature new weapons and unseen Helghast soldiers.

AO: Lost Eden is an action-filled new expansion pack for Funcom's sci-fi MMORPG. Originally scheduled for late 2005,
game director Morten Byom announced it has been pushed back to somewhere in 2006. Reason for the delay, Funcom wants to keep providing new material to the live AO game, especially for its veteran/high level players. The 16.2 patch is currently being tested and adds an enhanced Shuttle port experience, new missions for the Nascence and Elysium areas, a new Outzone and Shadowlands experience, aimed primarily at single and small groups at the 205+ range.
