What was supposed to be a very exciting day for many Halo fans turned out to be nothing but frustrating as people who bought Crackdown and obtained a Halo 3 beta code were left in the cold. The much-lauded multiplayer beta that should have started today has not kicked in, as people are unable to download it off Xbox Live. Aware of the situation, neither Bungie nor Microsoft has issued a statement apart from a vague "We're looking into it."
UPDATE: Microsoft informed us the Crackdown update is now live, and the MP beta should now be accessible.

The July issue of PC Gamer has the first details on American McGee's next project. An action/adventure spread over 24 episodes, American McGee's Grimm Tales, developed by his own studio Spicy Horse, will hopefully wash the bad taste of Bad Day L.A. and Scrapland out of our mouths and give us another taste of the twisted mind we got to ejoy in American McGee's Alice. Scheduled for early 2008, Grimm Tales will revisit various fairy tales we all know from our youth, and American McGee has once again teamed up with R.J. Berg, executive Producer and head writer on Alice.

Sony's Q4 2007 financial results reveal the gaming division has lost $1.9 billion, mainly due to the below-production cost sale of the PS3, as well as declining PS2 hard/software sales. So far Sony has shipped, not sold, 13 million PS3 units, and a whopping 193 million PS2s. Sony expects a turnaround next fiscal year, as it is reorganizing and taking steps to cut production costs for the PS3.
