Microsoft Claims Black Friday Victory, Outselling PS3 3-1

Now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over, Microsoft is quick to tout its victory over Sony, claiming the Xbox 360 has outsold the PS3 by a 3-to-1 ratio. Compared to last year, sales are up 25% in North America, and since the price reduction in September, European sales have skyrocketed as much as 400%. Microsoft VP Don Mattrick claims the Xbox 360 now has a global install base of 25 million and an online community of more than 14 million Xbox Live members.

While Atari isn't exactly flourishing financially, it's still not as bad off as Midway and has been on a spending spree, signing a slew of titles in the past few months. At its Atari Live press event in London today, Infogrames president Phil Harrison revealed that the French publisher plans on bringing back several of its key, but dormant, franchise in the future. While there was nothing to announce just yet, we can expect new installments in the Baldur's Gate, Dungeons & Dragons and Test Drive franchises.
