In Aliens vs. Predator, players will have the chance to take the role of the three infamous species: the Colonial Marine, the Predator and the Alien. Each of the three species has its very own distinct story-driven, single-player campaign mode that interweaves with the campaigns of the other two species. SEGA president Mike Hayes revealed that AvP's release date will affect Colonial Marine's launch, as the company does not want the two Aliens titles too close to each other, preferably nine to 12 months apart, although commercial success of AvP could further influence that in either direction. Hayes also states that, despite the cancellation of Obsidian's Aliens RPG, a 3rd game in the franchise is planned but nothing concrete has been decided yet.

put on hold.
