GDC 2012 is over, and our general impression is that it was rather unimpressive. Not a lot of big reveals or announcements, and not quite as many games being shown off as in prior years. It could be that because E3 has rebounded, the developers/publishers pick that venue to show off their goods and use GDC for its intended purpose: showing off technology to other developers and recruiting fresh blood.
It was good to meet up with people we hadn't seen in a while, but apart from a few select titles, it was pretty much a dud.
While John Carter has been getting positive reviews, we don't plan on seeing it just yet (although
Adam saw it a few days ago). Instead, we're going to catch up with shows on the DVR and Netflix movies.
