DIGITAL DREAM TEAM FORMS

by Rainier on Oct. 4, 2001 @ 6:44 p.m. PDT

The makers of the world’s greatest football and football management simulations come together to form a unique partnership. The teams behind the Championship Manager (CM) and Pro Evolution Soccer franchises have come together to form a unique alliance which will result in new levels of realism and enjoyment for digital soccer fans all over the world.
The agreement is a result of the two teams’ appreciation of each others’ efforts. Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer – the new title from Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo (KCET), to be released on PlayStation 2 on November 16th – will feature data from the Sports Interactive database of more than 130,000 players worldwide.

“Anyone who’s been to the Sports Interactive office will know what massive Pro Evolution Soccer fans we are.” says Miles Jacobson, Managing Director of Sports Interactive. “So it was a real thrill when we heard that there was mutual respect from the teams behind the games and that they wanted to use our player stats.”

Dave Cox, European Product Manager of Konami says: “Sports Interactive’s library of player and team data is hugely impressive and the most comprehensive we have seen in the football games market. The use of that data in Pro Evolution Soccer is a tremendous asset to us and will ensure the game becomes the definitive football action title this winter.”

Pro Evolution Soccer will be published for PlayStation 2 on November 16th. The latest version of Championship Manager (Season 01/02 Edition) will be available for CD-ROM from October 12th.
