by Rainier on March 11, 2002 @ 6:53 p.m. PST

Ubi Soft Entertainment announces a must-buy for fans of Alfred Hitchcock, with a deal to bring the PC game, Alfred Hitchcock The Final Cut to the U.S. and Canada. The adventure game, based on some of Hitchcock's best movies, will be released this month at an MSRP of $29.99. This title was already released in Europe some 4 months ago.
Developed by Arxel Tribe, in collaboration with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group, Alfred Hitchcock The Final Cut delivers more than 30 hours of gameplay across 50 unique locations. Released in Europe in November 2001, the title was recently awarded Best Adventure Game 2001 and Most Innovative Adventure Game by justadventure.com.

"This is a game that will appeal to adventure game fans, as well as movie buffs," said Laurent Detoc, president of Ubi Soft Entertainment Inc. "The Final Cut features various puzzles that expertly weave knowledge of Hitchcock films into clues, and a soundtrack that draws from Hitchcock classics. Fans will also get a chance to view actual footage from films directed by Hitchcock, including Psycho, Frenzy, Shadow of a Doubt, Torn Curtain, Topaz and Saboteur."

"The fact that Ubi Soft, which recently launched Myst® III: Exile and stormed the charts with a great number of AAA titles, will be taking care of the publishing and distribution of our game is an immense satisfaction for all those who worked on this project," said Guillaume de Fondaumiere, Chairman of The Arxel Guild.
