About Judy

As WP's managing editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

'Star Wars: Battlefront' (Xbox) - Update Patch Coming

by Judy on Dec. 14, 2004 @ 2:54 a.m. PST

Battlefront is an action/shooter game that gives fans and gamers the opportunity to relive and participate in all of the classic Star Wars battles like never before. Players can select one of a number of different soldier types, jump into any vehicle, man any turret on the battlefront and conquer the galaxy planet-by-planet online with their friends or offline in a variety of single-player modes.

Here are some of the things the update will include:

  • Voice identity. Player should now know WHO is talking
  • Revised Voting Interface
  • Ability to change teams
  • Display Server Name in Game
  • Droideka Headshot Collision Fix
  • Display Planet Name on Load
  • Auto Aim Off now removes all aim & control assistance
  • Host can boot players without a vote
  • Increase player capabilities to 32 players - note that the person hosting this game will need at LEAST a 1.5Mbit UPLOAD ability and a 1.5Mbit DOWNLOAD ability. Provided you have such bandwidth, everyone should be able to play with no lag issues. However, trying to host with a slower bandwidth line will result in very poor performance for everyone.

We will also be releasing an additional mission: Jabba's Palace at this time.
