Bloodline Champions is a PVP game with short, intense matches for up to ten players divided into two teams. Chance is not a factor, spells and abilities do a set amount of damage. Random elements such as critical hits and passive abilities do not exist. Every spell is aimed and can be avoided by enemy players, making every ability dependent on individual player skill. Without mana and creeps, the game has almost zero downtime and is instead based on short cooldowns, this coupled with the absence of elements such as grind and farming ensures that every match is full of action.

Bloodline Champions’ continues to build momentum: last week Funcom announced that 100,000 players had joined the beta, and Funcom can now announce that this number has soared to over 150,000 in just a matter of days.

“We are absolutely thrilled to see so many gamers showing interest in the game,” says Stunlock Studios CEO Tau Petersson. “With the game increasing in popularity and with more and more gamers discovering the game, we realized we had to come up with something that immediately explained the game to all these new arrivals. So we put together this video that explains exactly just what ‘Bloodline Champions’ is all about, and we hope that this will inspire even more players to join us in the beta in the time to come.”

Players can now register for the real beta and the selection of beta testers will be made based on their physical location and hardware specifications. Initially beta servers will only be hosted in Europe. The Developers also have the intention to host beta servers in the US later in the beta. Selected players will receive an invitation by e-mail along with details on how to proceed from there to take part in the beta testing of Bloodline Champions.
