'Pathologic' - New Screens

by Rainier on July 27, 2016 @ 8:40 a.m. PDT

Pathologic is a dramatic game affecting the player's state of mind featuring a bizarre combination of first-person game, role-playing features, non-linear plot and real time flow, three unique campaigns and multiple endings.

Pathologic is a story-driven, open-world survival horror game where you play as one of three specialists sent to a strange steppe Town to fight against a misterious and deadly plague. Every day brings new stories and quests, new challenges and difficulties; you have to discover the secrets of the Town and the origin of the Plague, find a cure for it... while trying to stay alive: hunger, thirst and the disease itself are all up against you.

The Plague is extending. You have come to recognize the symptoms -- in the eyes of the infected, in their faces. But you still don't know where it came from, what causes it, and worst of all: you don't know how to stop it. And those who are still not infected by the disease are being pushed to the brink of madness by fear, growing more and more evil and hostile. What is this unforgiving sickness, this Sand Plague? And what is this Town, with its impossible buildings, its disturbing inhabitants performing strange rituals?

You have only 12 days to figure it out or everything will be over -- and that's if bandits or the disease itself don't get to you first. Time is running out. What will you do to stay alive and save the Town?

The plot of Pathologic is broken down into 12 chapters reflecting the 12 days the game is set across, each of them carrying new stories, quests and events. Time, however, flows mercilessly; if you fail to finish a task when it is due the opportunity is lost, as are human lives…

The re-imagining of Ice-Pick Lodge's Survival RPG from 2005 was funded through its $250,000 Kickstarter campaign.
