by Rainier on Oct. 23, 2019 @ 4:28 p.m. PDT

Enter mankind's greatest conflict with Battlefield V as the series goes back to its roots with a never-before-seen portrayal of World War 2.

Assemble your Company of customized soldiers, weapons, and vehicles – then take them on an epic journey through the Tides of War. Experience the most intense, immersive Battlefield yet. You will never be the same.

Featuring a fresh portrayal of one of mankind’s biggest conflicts, Battlefield V allows players to feel the unmatched intensity of all-out war and travel to unexpected but crucial moments of World War 2 through new and signature multiplayer modes, single-player War Stories and the cooperative Combined Arms. In Battlefield V, embark on a continuing, grand journey post-launch in the brand new Tides of War, created to make sure the battlefield is constantly evolving with new events, challenges, battles, and rewards that are always within reach – for all Battlefield V owners.

Battlefield V multiplayer will deliver the most immersive gameplay of the franchise in a sandbox environment that portrays the battles of World War 2, allowing players to feel the force of the fight and truly shape the war as the war shapes them. Players’ soldiers can now tow stationary weapons, build fortifications and repair war-torn structures to turn the battlefield to the player’s advantage. Whether dragging a squad mate to safety or shooting a grenade out of the sky, players will forge a deeper connection to the ever-evolving world around them and achieve victory against the toughest odds. With the freedom to adapt and evolve the battlefield in new and unseen ways, the battlefield will never be the same.

Think back to where it all started for the Battlefield franchise with Battlefield 1942 and more recently Battlefield 1943. The iconic battles via land, air, and sea on maps like Iwo Jima are memories that gamers have only found in Battlefield.

On October 31 for the first time in ten years, DICE is bringing players back to the battle of the Pacific in World War 2 with Battlefield V Chapter 5: War in the Pacific.

The first two nostalgic maps being released in Chapter 5 are Iwo Jima and Pacific Storm. Iwo Jima is a highly dynamic map that has the U.S. and Japanese forces engaged in a beach landing invasion in an all-or-nothing clash across wide-open black beaches and close-range environments. Providing more water-based combat, the Pacific Storm map takes players through treacherous weather on a set of islands as they must secure control points using boats, tanks, or aircraft.

Battlefield V Chapter 5: War in the Pacific includes:

  • New maps: Iwo Jima, Pacific Storm, and, coming in December, Wake Island.
  • New factions: The U.S. and Japan.
  • New weapons including the M1 Garand and M1919A6.
  • New vehicles including the M4 Sherman tank and the F4U Corsair plane.
  • New stationary weapons.
  • New gadgets like the Katana and Flamethrower Battle Pickups.
  • New Chapter Rewards including weapons, soldier sets, weapon skins, and melee weapons.

First time players looking to check out Battlefield V including Chapter 5: War in the Pacifc on Xbox One, PS4 and PC can do so during the Free Trials that run over the next two weekends. Battlefield V’s narrative-driven flagship and multiplayer experience Grand Operations, where teams battle through several different maps and modes, will be available for all to jump into from Thursday, October 24 to Monday, October 28. Then, the new Chapter 5: War of the Pacific content will become available in the free trial weekend from Friday, November 1 through Monday, November 4.

In new and classic multiplayer modes, players can lead their own unique Company to victory in a dynamic multiplayer experience where every battle is unique. The Company allows players to create and deeply customize their soldiers, weapons and vehicles that will evolve as they progress, covering everything from the way they look to the way they play. Fan favorite modes like the 64-player Conquest return, with the game’s multiplayer culminating in Grand Operations, an all-new live, event-based experience within Tides of War. These multimap, multi-mode dynamic events take players through vast historical battles to relive moments of bravery and desperation while fighting to the final objective.

The single-player campaign mode from Battlefield 1, War Stories, returns for Battlefield V. Witness the conflict through the eyes of men and women of World War 2 and experience untold stories of human drama, filled with Battlefield moments. Experience the freezing Norwegian landscapes as a young Norwegian resistance fighter or come ashore into the desert heat of North Africa - and more.

Tides of War is DICE’s new approach to live services, where players will set out on an epic journey with their Company in unexpected battles throughout World War 2. There will be no premium pass, all players will have access to the same maps and modes, keeping the community unified as they progress through Battlefield V. In Tides of War, their journey through World War 2 will grow through themed experiences that will include events and all-new ways to play like Grand Operations, while also unlocking the latest themed rewards such as weapons and vehicles to further shape their Company.

Battlefield V is now available worldwide for Xbox One, PS4 and Origin for PC.
