'The Endless Mission' Gets Steam Early Access Date - Trailer

by Rainier on Nov. 6, 2019 @ 12:12 p.m. PST

The Endless Mission is a sandbox-style creation game that takes you on a hero’s journey through a rich narrative world where you develop the power and opportunity to craft games and experiences of your own - all while challenging forces larger than yourself.

The Endless Mission offers up something for everyone. Want to get lost in a deep story that takes you behind the scenes of your favorite game genres? No problem. Want to begin making your own games for the world to play using The Endless Mission’s powerful creation tools? We’ve got you covered.

Those who embark upon The Endless Mission are invited to mashup, mix, and modify games across a wide variety of beloved genres, even manipulating the essence of the game down to the very code itself - creating new experiences and gameplay opportunities as they discover what is at stake for the world as we know it.  Will you accept The Endless Mission?

The Endless Mission invites you to become a part of The Academy, an organization dedicated to helping the world use the technology that is around them - instead of being used by it. Explore a digital world where you have the power to fundamentally alter the framework around you, reshaping and creating as you see fit. This all happens while a colorful cast of characters stand by your side as you begin to pull back the curtain on a story that draws you behind the scenes of some of video gaming’s most iconic genres. From crafting your own spells and changing enemy behavior, to completely reshaping the surrounding landscape, The Endless Mission empowers players to rethink how games are built.

The Endless Mission is set to launch on Steam Early Access on November 14, 2019 for $14.99.

Players who purchase the game at that price will receive all additional content (new genres, multiplayer, themed challenges, etc) at no additional cost. However, the price may increase for new users coming to the game as more features are rolled out.

Early Access Features:

  • Epic story that takes players behind the scenes of their favorite game genres
  • An integrated Editor that allows players to create their own games and content and then share them with the community via the in-game Content Portal and Hall of Celebration
  • Mashup, tweak, remix, and hack and see the results in real time
  • Fully realized Real Time Strategy and Platformer games with assets and mechanics players can use in the creation of their own games
  • A Hall of Celebration where curated UGC from the community and streamers will be featured
  • Characters voiced by the veteran talents of Sara Amini, Laura Bailey, Jennifer Hale, Courtenay Taylor, Alix Wilton Regan, Jamie Hunsdale, and Chantal Robert

While in Early Access, The Endless Mission will experience regular content updates, including a new genre of game to play and create with (Racer) and a multiplayer feature drop that is currently in development. Multiplayer within The Endless Mission will allow players to create games and hack together in a way that has never been executed within a video game. Review codes for The Endless Mission are available now, so be sure to send in your request.

Developed through a collaboration between E-Line Media and Endless Interactive, with a story by the veteran team of writers at Sleep Deprivation Lab, whose credits include  Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and The Crew - The Endless Mission explores what it means to shape the technology in our lives versus being shaped by it.  It launches players on a journey to a world where nothing is as it seems and the power to shape everything around them exists at the tips of their fingers.
