Frostpunk is a city-survival game in which heat means life, and every decision comes with a cost. Living among the frozen remnants of Earth, it is up to you to shape society, establishing the laws and customs to ensure survival.

The premise begins by imagining what society is capable of when pushed to the limit. In a completely frozen world, people develop steam-powered technology to oppose the overwhelming cold. Society in its current form becomes ineffective and it has to change in order to survive. What does this change mean? What is culture when morality stands in the way of existence? In the end, survival may transform us completely. Whether that change makes us better or worse, stronger or weaker, or even more or less humane is debatable.

With the future of humankind in your hands, Frostpunk is both a challenge of tactical planning and a test of your own humanity.

Frostpunk: Console Edition is a finely tuned adaptation of the PC hit that will be making its way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this year.

Focusing on a smooth transition to consoles, great efforts are being taken to re-design the game and adjust its mechanics for the Xbox One and PS4, especially when it comes to controls. 11 bit studios still have some work to do but are close to the finish line, creating an intuitive interface allowing gameplay to feel natural even when playing with a controller.

“We don’t want to reveal the exact release date yet, but I can say that the game should be out in the summer,” says lead designer Kuba Stokalski.

Frostpunk: Console Edition will contain all the previous free updates from the PC version including The Fall of Winterhome scenario, additional customization options, difficulty settings, and balance tweaks. Furthermore, additional content updates are planned for the future.
