'Moss' (ALL) Getting All-New Gameplay and Story Content

by Rainier on May 14, 2019 @ 12:48 p.m. PDT

Moss is an action-adventure puzzle game, built for virtual reality from the ground up, that re-imagines classic gameplay in a first-of-its-kind fully immersive environment.

Through fantasy storybook readings and fluid gameplay, Moss brings players into the tale of our unlikely hero Quill, a young mouse with dreams of greatness beyond the confines of her settlement. While exploring the woods, she finds a mysterious piece of glass and an ancient magic is awakened. With her uncle now in grave danger, Quill must embark on an epic journey—and she needs you there by her side. Together, you'll travel to forgotten realms, solve challenging puzzles, and battle menacing enemies. Alone, no one can conquer what you're up against. But united, you just may defeat even the darkest of villains.

Moss takes classic components of a great game—such as compelling characters, gripping combat, and captivating world exploration—and combines them with the exciting opportunities of virtual reality. Throughout gameplay, players build an extraordinary alliance with Quill, Moss’s brave new hero. Players not only guide Quill on her journey, but also reach into the world as their own character—their every action has impact.

Players immerse themselves into the world of Moss using the PSVR headset. With the trackable functionality of the Dualshock4 controller, players not only guide Quill they become their own character, a key ally to Quill. Players reach into the dynamic, interactive world where their every action has impact. They move objects, assist in battle and puzzle-solve, heal Quill, and alter the actual landscape of play.

Polyarc will introduce new content for Moss, making it even harder to put down the game that’s captivated players around the world.

On May 21, to coincide with the release of Oculus Quest, players on the platform will be able to unlock and explore the Twilight Garden, a brand-new chapter of Moss. The content delivers a complimentary experience to existing gameplay, bringing additional environments, challenges, and storytelling to players.

PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift/S, HTC Vive, and Windows MR platforms will receive the update this June.

“The Quest is a game changer for the VR industry, and something we’ve been eagerly anticipating as developers specializing in VR content. Its wireless head and hand tracking technology allows full immersion in another world, simply by picking up and putting on a headset, regardless of where you are,” said Josh Stiksma, principal designer, Polyarc. “Now you can explore the whimsical fairytale from home or on the go as you travel, commute, and visit friends or family. In addition, to make this experience even more magical, we’ve updated the game. Players may now discover and explore new content hidden within the world of Moss.”
